It doesn't come up too often, but with onslaught (and any unit with +1 attacks) you can attack a second target if your first attack kills the stack.

This only works if the unit is in range of another unit it can attack though. So if a melee unit with +1 attacks kills a stack on their first attack, but afterwards there's no other enemy stack to be attacked, their bonus attack gets wasted. Therefore it's way better to use Onslaught on a ranged unit, who will likely always be able to hit something else. It's pretty good on Militia/Sappers actually, because they can hit pretty high numbers with their big stacks and the +1 attack doesn't need reload. It does require a bit of a set-up though.

Yeah but only if used right. Fury for example can royally backfire if used on a wrong moment. But this game has not too many spells, therefore it's totally okay for them to be generally useful and none of them sticking out as a very niche tool.

Hey Icon, what do u think about this game? i'm reading contrasting ideas, like the campaign missions are boring, all the factions play the same, the combat is basic and all the explorations/settlement management are basic and uninteresting

That is very far from my experience. The campaign missions are darned well written and I love the stories. Yeah, they are mostly narrative missions, but if you want gameplay there's random maps and tons of handmade maps. Factions play only same if you don't emphasize on their capabilities. Each faction has a "set" of different builds you can go for which make sense. I haven tried em all out yet, but there's enough in the box to be interesting. I cannot agree with any of these points, as building management is cool. You have limited build spots and you are limited in the amount of different troops you can train therefore. Specializing is heavily rewarded. Combat is oldschool HOMM Stuff. If you find that bland, that's a valid criticism. I grew up with the stuff and am mad in love with the game.

@@Deliverant My pleasure! The campaign missions kinda are like narrative tutorials that tell you a cool story and introduce the faction and their various units layer by layer. Which is pretty cool if you (like me) tend to be overwhelmed by too many options at once.
