For these interested in fertility from canals for current 66.29 version from what i gathered: Fertility % added is 1/2 of fresh water %. As for fresh water it's automatic 100% on squares with ground water (no matter if they is water or land on surface). Canals works basically the same as ground water. And then fresh water spread for 15 squares linearly (-6.66% per square) from 100% for square next to ground water or canal to 0% for 16th square. So the max fertility added from canals is +50% fertility from 100% of fresh water for square right next to ground water. To sum it up it looks like this when rounded down with added fertility for distance from canal/ground water: 50 | 46 | 43 | 40 | 36 | 33 | 30 | 26 | 23 | 20 | 16 | 13 | 10 | 6 | 3 | 0 So the size of your farm should be based on your base fertility. If you have canals on both sides it don't add up but simply bigger value is chosen. Ps. All percentages can be seen by holding right click on square. Pps. I don't know if fertility is actually rounded down for the sake of fertility calculations or only rounded down in tooltip.

any time you click on a farm you can see the area just below the name. the number of tiles a farmer can handle for a given crop is constant. I haven't looked at all the crops, so I'm not sure if they're all identical or not. I believe grain and fruit are both 100 tiles per farmer.

Why not make a non-farm spiral inside a max-sized farm and put the canal there?

Any tips for farming mushrooms and Eggs? I see humans like those foods but you didnt bother farming any. Is it better to simply focus on meat and bread?

Does the temperature still seriously affect the output of agricultural crops in v66? Is it possible to counter with research or would that just be a blackhole for research points?

Temperature does impact your game a lot, but there's only 3 temperature zones rn (cold, temperate, hot) and they have pretty default impact.
