i remember getting this game when it came out. its so much fun! just remember that you set resource limits so no matter how many ppl are gathering they wont bring back above X amount of flint or sticks etc

fun game. First civ type game I've played. Pretty confusing at first.What i would recommend for new players (like me) is just do the first 3 ages then stop, build up your defenses, farm and manage your production. I stayed in Neo age for a very long time, so long in fact that i was able to get all the techs in copper at once.I was at about 100 pop when i advanced. Raiders come alot more and are tougher from copper age on. Yeah, fun game

Aurochs is pronounced "ore-rocks"...which is probably how it eventually got shortened to "ox," since it's the pre-domestication version of cattle.

sim city died a long time ago and there have been PLENTY of city builders since then. cities skylines jumps off the fucking page! not to mention literally 5 different tropico games, banished, islanders, 4 different Anno games, Caesar (tho only 4 is really competent), cities XL. Nevermind the fact that this is barely a city builder, and more of a colony sim. dont even get me started on how many of those there have been in the last 15 years. rant over. but seriously just do a google search. cuz WOW this comment was shooting blind

ha small world I built a now thriving city in exactly the same spots you built yours. City 3 unfortunately was hit by a double whammy wolf pack/raiding party attack so I abandoned it though so it is currently at just city 1 and 2

Just got the game after watching a few minutes of this video from Steam. Had a heck of a time doing the tutorial and started it over at least four times since I was having trouble getting the right controls and scheme of game play figured out. Finally did get to the first game and had some trouble with raiders, which was a huge setback since those two invaders took out three of my villagers. I didn't think that would make such a huge difference in progress, but it did. I am still trying to figure out how to get the villagers to escape bad situations early enough to survive and heal up. I am still learning the controls and strategy for various situations, but it seems clear trade is a big deal if you need a few things to keep progress going. Animal hunting seems to come in the middle of others activities with critters visiting the area for water while I am trying to get something done. Tends to be a nuisance while trying to collect enough knowledge for the tech tree.

The map looks great. Might be worth a look if/when they implement rival clans and warfare. Time cycle is way too quick for my liking though, It was Winter of a whole one in-game minute. I also think ages should be prolonged further so you can experience them in-depth.

This game reminds me once again how good Banished was, the concept, the AI, the core. There are a lot of games that tried to copy Banished in a way or another, the problem is that they never managed to add something new, let`s take Dawn of Man for example, it`s a Banished copy with prehistoric aspect and a couple of new tweaks, but it`s shallow, no soul, nothing to break through, you will play for one day and that`s all.
