They really wanted a video out by black friday. I have a sewer line to repair but ok. The video will be half-baked though. Let's see if they are fine with that or not. Not that I care lol. I'm not an influencer, I'm a building repairer taking advantage of internet shenanigans to get free tools.

Liking the price / performance ratio of the cheap one. And low FPS wouldn't be such a problem once you start really looking at something specific.

The user experience is also proving seamless as well. Other ones take a while to turn on and detect usb but this one is instant. The only thing I think I would add is a hinged shield for the lcd since I worry it would get scratched as I abuse it at work

They get used a lot in construction to look for heat loss in building walls and ceilings, and also to check insulation performance once they get insulated.

Yeah this HP96 is a clear winner for a simple tool.

I live in a apartment complex. I Suspect the air quality is bad wondering if there’s a practical way to check for CO at a low level or air quality in general?
@RinoaLАй бұрын
I saw Wendel from Level1techs has an air quality monitor in his office made by Autopilot, maybe look into that

There's a man in TX that does solar videos on here whose daughter hunts hogs at night with these. Thanks for your review and be well.

Great info, can you tell me the distance limits ? Thank you
@RinoaL22 күн бұрын
Honestly the distance limit isnt down to focus, but resolution. You could measure an airship from a mile away probably haha I believe for this cameras they adjust the focus to include far away objects and also as close as they can get away with. For instance it seems to work fine at 300 feet, although it is a lower resolution to begin with

About the virus Stuff: my opinion an autorun file can be non malware but i dont like it the autorun stuff BUT i can not see and don't know a reason for a pif file apart form virus stuff on a usb device
@RinoaLАй бұрын
Thank for weighing in. I agree it doesnt have much of a reasonable explanation. I suspect their computers are infected

Do you have a favorite sub $300 imager? Or would this hp96 be just that? DIY level.
@RinoaLАй бұрын
Hrmm, yeah I'd say this is pretty good for sub 300. Its a solid build quality, just not high enough resolution for surface mount components sometimes.

Open the autorun.inf on your listed drive D: with text editor, or better yet rename the file extension .txt then open it. Check the text commands, set text editor to list mode so it will list them, read what they say/do and if it looks like it's messing with your operating system drive contents say C: then it could be malicious. Autorun.inf has been exploited in the past to auto install a self replicating virus to every new storage device plugged in, that may be your antivirus being extra safe because it did happen in the past, but autorun.inf is a normal file to automatically launch an executable file say an installer so by nature it's normal and harmless but check the contents. To be safe, disable autorun on any windows operating system, that's what I do, because I've had a vendetta with this virus in the past.
@RinoaLАй бұрын
Yeah windows defender already deleted that file but i was more worried about the other one
@theroomofhiddenpredispositionsАй бұрын
@RinoaL The other file could have been a false alarm from older exploitations in the virus database, but if there's no software with it big red flag if there is and you don't need it better safe than sorry.
