Post ice bath does NOT reduce strength like the guy said above, but it CAN reduce strength GAINS that could have been made in the heavy workout session, but it is negligible as you recover better so you can then workout again quicker. Ice baths aren’t for muscle growth they’re just for recovery, so the only time to do one would be right after the workout, 5-6 hours after wouldn’t do anything, 20 mins before would just make ur muscles stiff and cold
@jacobdaley388811 ай бұрын
your muscles are still going through hypertrophy 4 hours after the working, they will be still warm, so an ice bath before 4 hours after will stop the hypertrophy and less muscle damage,20 minutes before will increase test and focus before a workout, think of an egg though, when your boiling it, its cooking the quickest, but if you take em out and put in a empty bowl they will still cook a bit more, if you put them in cold water it will stop cooking and the time in the boiling water will be the only thing that will cook it.
@oscarsahagun41942 ай бұрын
From what I’ve been reading and researching. There isn't strong evidence to suggest that doing a cold plunge after a workout significantly reduces muscle growth. While some research suggests that cold therapy may slightly impair muscle hypertrophy immediately after a workout, the long-term impact on muscle growth appears to be minimal. Ultimately, the benefits of cold plunges for recovery likely outweigh any potential temporary reduction in muscle growth. 🤷🏻♂️
