Have fun on your trip Shawn! I did get to wear one of the shirts I got , when surf fishing in Florida. I wore the hooded one. It was very cool, dried quickly, and kept me from getting burned in 21/2 hours in the sun. Very nice shirts! 👍

+Curtis Blair thanks man! I'll definitely have fun for sure, however the weather looks bad. It's gonna be hot and sunny, and the barometric pressure seems like it will be high (which causes the fish to not feed as well). Hopefully I'll still catch, it just might not be an epic trip like I usually have in corpus. But either way I'll have fun! And I'll get some awesome video! Glad you like the shirts! Yeah I wore mine recently and love the hooded one as well. I was out in the sun all day, and never got burnt. It kept me cool and dry, and it didn't smell. I wore a neck gator as well, and it was like full sun protection. I'm happy with them, and glad the company made them so well. I really wanted to only sell products I felt were quality, and these out did my expectations, so I'm quite happy!

Your only 2500 away from 10k mark! Keep up the good videos and it's going to happen! I hope when my channel starts up in December I can get to where you have someday!

Thanks! Yeah well, just keep in mind its a lot of hard work for not any "return" in profit for a very long time. By the time I'm at 10k subs I will have been doing this for about 2 years. Its generally a full time job also, and you work for a few years without any income. I put in about 40 hours a week (sometimes more) on the channel each week. Good luck! Hope it works out for you!

Good luck on the trip to Corpus. Please do report on which fly (flies) work the best for you there. Here's hoping you hammer 'em!

Hey Shawn, did I know your name is Shawn? Great name! Really nice fly. I hope you catch some fish on this trip. How's the baby doing? Your son jealous? No trouble with your jobs leaving work? Safe journey. All the best, Sean

+Sean Mooney yes we talked about how awesome our names are! Haha I hope I catch also! Either way I'll have a great time with an old friend I rarely see anymore. Baby is good, my son loves her and is not jealous at all, just wants to hold her too much. Haha My boss benefits a bit from the channel. Many people come in to see me, which brings new customers. He has no problem with me doing this as well. As long as I give him a far enough heads up, he can work it through his schedule. Thanks again man! God bless, and I'm still praying for you and your wife! Give me updates and let me know how everyone is doing there.

Another great looking tutorial Shawn. Have you compared the Solarez product to the Loon products for UV resins? I'm looking to re-stock my supply and wanted your opinion. I like the cone, it gives the fly a distinct gill plate.

+Piscator Flies Loon does make quality resin. I find solarez to not have as good of applicators (except the paint brush in the bone dry formula) but I find their resin seems to cure faster and less tacky than some of the loon products. Also loon charges a lot more! They charge almost the same price but you get much less per bottle. With solarez, you get a 2oz bottle for the same cost that loon charges for a 1/2 oz bottle (I think that's their size). So solarez lasts longer for more flies since you get more in the bottle. I went with them for that reason. I tie so many flies, I would have to replace my loon bottles every month or so, and solarez lasts 4-6 months for me. So it costs a bunch less! I don't use loon much anymore, and so I don't know if their new stuff as much, but this is what I found from a few years ago when I also was looking for uv resins. Maybe loon has changed, not sure now. At work we use "knot sense" a lot for attaching backing on line for customers, and I get annoyed at how long it takes to cure. Solarez flex is kinda like knot sense and can be used in the same way. And I find flex will cure quicker. So there is that.

+McFly Angler Thanks Shawn, I appreciate the candid feedback on the products. Do you know if the tips are intergnagable Loon to Solarez? The loon comes in 1/2oz or 2oz bottles as well.

+Piscator Flies I don't believe the tips are interchangeable. However I have not tried. Solarez has a 4oz bottle as well and I believe it's in the $40 price range. But that's off the top my head so look that up. I know loon is about that price for their 2oz. I think Solarez offers a 4 Gram , 1 ounce, 2 oz, and a 4 ounce bottle
