Being a Cali kid , I moved to Missouri . I had never been to a Wal-Mart before. I ran to the sporting goods department. I was amazed ! I saw a bunch of odd looking fishing poles and and tents and other stuff. In those days Wal-Mart had people calling clerks lol . The clerk asked if he could help me. I said what is all this weird stuff. He looked at me strangely, and said it's for ice fishing ! Started kinda laughing, and said you've got to be kidding. I'm glad you had a good time, you got alot of cool stuff ! Well done George !

Dunno George, I tried ice fishing but I could barely cast into those little holes. The upside...You can set your "water" down beside you, no cooler, and it will stay cold.

Ice fishing...I don't know George,🤔 My experience with ice was near Estes Park CO one winter while walking a mountain trail I was showing my young son how to safely cross a frozen stream...😢 By the time I heard the ice crack it was too late 😮down I went. Luckily the stream was about 5 foot deep, I'm 6ft but the rocks beneath were slippery and with the rushing water I couldn't get a foot hold and if I tried to steady myself on the ice with my upper body the ice would crack. My boy found a long branch and helped me out finally (it was 🥶 cold) and to top it off I was soaked so when we got to town and found a laundry mat the only thing I had to cover myself with as my clothes dried was one of my kids Barney blankets 😕 Moral of the story stick with what you know...this Texas boy wasn't prepared for that 😅 But it's a family tale now and they all get a good laugh at Dad. 😜 Thanks for sharing George and if you ever want to fish on water you don't walk on hit me up 😂
