Thank goodness for this video! Many newer icemakers have a clear -/+ indicator, this looks just like my Maytage version and nothing existed in the manual about this adjustment. I thought I would have to replace but now can just adjust :)

Thanks. Same ice-maker in our Whirlpool ED5G of 2001. The ice was getting thicker over several years so didn't break apart easy. In the last month, it started overflowing to make an ice volcano below. Your video informed us of the level adjustment screw, which the manual doesn't mention (very poor, covers many various models). Screwed it in to limit, so will see the result. Sounds like it might not have a pressure regulator, so if your water pressure increases, your ice might get too thick or overflow since their only "level" control is a simple timer.

Ice maker looks like yours, in a 1995 RCA Refrigerator,, seems to be having trouble continuing to work on it's own. Keep having to restart it by raising and lowering stop arm to get it to start over,,,,

I noticed if your eye laser dilly that tells the fridge is full of ice is bad, you wont get 110 volts to Ice maker, you'll only get like 33 volts.

My Whirlpool ice maker seems to work pretty good? My Questions that I have are, the ice cubes are Hollow not solid "water adjustment"? The main thing is the arm does not shut off the maker from making ice when the bin is full, the ice piles on top of the arm? It does shut off ice production when I put the arm in the Click up position. if that make sense? Would changing the Module correct this?

If you don't have an on/off button, then the arm in the up position does turn the ice maker off, so that makes sense. I don't think any ice makers know when your bin is too full, they only have a program to make ice. Sounds like you aren't using ice often enough, so empty or partially empty your bin. @@colinnwn Thanks I ended up finding it, copied text for anyone looking for the same info: If no knob is visible on the outside of the unit, there should be a fill adjustment screw under the cover on the edge of the control head. Turning the fill adjustment screw clockwise decreases the water fill time. One half turn equals 20cc or 1.2 sec., a full turn equals 40cc or 2.4 sec.

Is that little plastic set screw that regulates the water suppose to be, It is like it is come lose on the inside it flops around. Guess I will find it when I put back together. I turned it to the right a half turn. The water over fills the tray and runs back into the ice bucket and all the ice then freezes together.

I have tried these steps and seem to still have a problem that is not covered. Heater resistance is 74, motor resistance 7800, voltage is good, and it filled. After fill & freeze, it stopped and clicks with the dial at about 7:00 or 8:00 position. This also happens with jumper in place, it gets stuck at about the seven and a half position and clicks. Any ideas?

Ice maker makes too much ice. Control arm moves when Ice is harvested, yet it does not stop making ice when the bin is full and control arm stops on top of ice pile. Also, If I put control arm into top position, I hear a click; nevertheless, the ice maker continues to make ice??? . Any fixes for this???

Yep, plastic part that trips Shut off switch broke. AAA Appliance swapped unit in less than 15 minutes; $300 parts & labor. Did not have to remove drawer or contents. Simply removed lower screw and loosened two upper screws; had to get unit with compatible electric plug. Very quick & easy.

You say resistance across L and M should be 84 to 8800 ohms... do you mean 8400 to 8800 ohms? BTW other sources say approximately 4400 ohms. Going to check mine as soon as I get dressed because my meter is out in the shop.

Hello found my motor winding at about 8.2 ohms, My heater was at 2.07 ohms. Found my heater was not working and ice would not empty from the tray.

I've replaced 5 of these and know how hard it is to do the video work while talking and explaining, which you did well. IF you'll tap in the center of your phone camera, the items come into focus. I was getting dizzy trying to watch... I've a particular need; we replaced the tubing as it got old and snapped off; flooding the floor instead of into the ice tray (LOL) and now the tubing is full of air bubbled and and I can't seem to be able to cycle it thru to make water enter the tray... didn't see that info here... ??

I jumped t and h and watched it turn until the water inlet valve pumped water through the tube. The dial then stops. I tried jumping several more times with the same result. What do you think the issues is? Seems like it gets power but I can figure out why it's not producing ice

Hi i have the same icemaker. It is not getting water but water dispenser works fine. I cycled the motor and everything seems to working well. Any suggestions.

Take filter out and shake the water out of it and put it back in and run the water dispenser hope it works for you

Hi Ronnie and thanks for the vid. I replaced the ice maker on my Whirlpool ice maker after trouble shooting everything else to think I nipped it in the butt, not so, still no water or ice to and from the ice maker, from your vid. decided to check voltage from N TO L to find 35 volts not 110, is that ok with a whirlpool side by side 8 yr, old ice maker do you think?
