This short film was made by the same band that gave us Hip To Be Scared and Assault & Batteries, both also from 2021. Rainy Day was directed by Jensen Noen, who has also dabbled in directing beforehand. With entries such as Asking Alexandria's Into The Fire and a few of Falling In Reverse's newest videos, it's no wonder Spencer Charnas of INK sought him out. Listening to the intro riff & breakdown for the first time, (which reminds me of BMTH - Obey I might add) I couldn't help but feel that this deserved to be more heavy because the riff had so much potential for something disgusting. But for what it is, I liked it.. INK is one of the bands where I really don't mind them having fully clean songs, we get them occasionally, like Grave Mistake, Savages, Love Bites etc. And I'm okay with that. I'm just hoping we do at least get a couple of songs that have that typical INK theatrical metalcore sound that hopefully didn't leave along with Justin.

Totally agree with everything you said. Sounds a lot like bmth, the intro sounds like Obey, even the artwork screams that's the spirit, they don't hide the major influence bmth has on this track. As for the theme, i missed more references to the movie or games, if I had no video I wouldn't realize this was based off Resident evil. They could have used the movie theme somewhere, or the "you're all going to die down here" line. Like they did with Savages and freak flag, they had a brutal movie filled with good references and made a soft rock song with almost no references to the movies. Having said all that, it's actually a killer song on its own like the others I've mentioned even though it's a shame they dont reflect at all the source material their based of.

@@knifeuu777 Most of their fan base... Horror movies fans who love INK because the adaptations they make of horror movies to songs. The music itself is rally good as always, but what impresses me the most is how they capture the essence of the movies and turn them into songs. I guess with this one they didn't want to make it sound like it was inspired by the movies the games or the upcoming reboot, it's more general. I hope it does make it into the soundtrack of the reboot

My first band opened for these guys 15 years ago at a community rec center bowling alley show in my crappy little hometown. There were like, 10 bands on the bill and we played so early that only the sound guy and 5 of our friends even saw us perform. Nobody had heard of Ice Nine Kills at that point. I don't think Last Chance to Make Amends had even come out yet. It's just kinda crazy to see how far they've come. I was in another band years later that opened for Gemini Syndrome before anyone knew who the fuck they were too. But I've also opened for washed up has-been losers like Saliva. So it's a bit of a wash. Lol.
