INK is the definition of a band grinding hard to make it. People would think they're new but they been aroumd for 20 years. Started as a ska band under Ice Nine. :)

I’ll never forget, back in 2017 warped tour, they were still small enough to where after their show I was able to just walk up to Spencer and JD (wasn’t even a fan at the time) with a friend who was a massive fan without any line or anything. They talked me into buying two CDs for 10 bucks and signed em both. Looking back now, I can’t believe I didn’t see the greatness and their last 3 albums are some of my favorite albums ever. Still very underrated

A little fun fact on Ice Nine Kills name origin. It's based on a fictional material from the novel Cat's Cradle. Whenever ice nine comes into contact with water below a certain temperature it causes the water to crystallize or solidify and the entire body of water becomes more ice nine. Since the majority of the human body is made up of water I'm sure you can understand why they (INK) added the 'Kills' portion to the band name. Great reaction again. Very excited for the last 2.

I am going through and watching every movie referenced in their songs from the last 3 albums (yes I know every trick in the book is based off novels, but some have movies) and getting the context to compare really brought a new appreciation to the effort they put into the lyrics. 10/10 would recommend. I love how David gets so entranced with the video he makes more comments about that than the music sometimes. The music is great, we all know that. The effort INK puts into their videos is something to behold though. Another awesome video, can’t wait for the next one. Best of luck with the not self defecating David.

Leave it to Spencer to make a better Resident Evil movie than Paul Anderson... I know you'll likely take a break from INK for a bit after this series but the song that made me a fan was "The People Under The Stairs" from them. The chorus is definitely one of the best Spencer has ever done! Hope you react to it or just enjoy on your own!

"It makes me want to go back and watch the horror movies I missed." To respond to you David, this is one of my favorite things to do. My girlfriend and I will often listen to Ice Nine Kills in the car together and then watch the movie that the song we are most feeling that day is based on! Of course, this only applies to their last two albums (and about half of Every Trick In The Book, where every song is based on literature), but it’s a really fun thing to do!

I think it's a really cool detail how they synced the drums to the gunfire in the music video. It really serves to highlight the amazing drumming in the piece itself. Also the lead is flexing more of his singing talent in this one rather than metal screams. It's a nice change of pace from the other songs.

Their last two albums brought them to another level, but I highly suggest checking out something from "Every Trick In The Book" it was their first concept album before The Silver Scream stuff but instead of horror films each song was based off a famous book that the band felt everyone should be exposed to. I'd say "Me, Myself & Hyde" based on The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, "The Nature of The Beast" based on Animal Farm or "Bloodbath & Beyond" based on Dracula are the best tracks on it.

Spencer Charnas, the vocalist, is the only remaining original member. He’s the one who dictates the bands direction and sound. INK goes through members like it’s going out of style lol. Saw them live in September, was an absolute great show!

I love the outro and how much you're enjoying things. The marriage of the heavy and melodic is definitely the major appeal of this music to me. But given that outro, I've gotta push The Shower Scene again, since it's based on Psycho and you're already very familiar with that. There's no music video, but it'd be worth seeing your reaction to one where you can fully appreciate the tribute and references.

Great band indeed, I especially enjoy guessing the movie the song is based on. This was a tough one, would have never guessed Resident Evil. I thought the song was based off It. Most of INKs work is from movies, but going back to every trick in the book, it follows classical horror books instead of movies, hence why their name is after a Kurt Vonnegut book Cats Cradle. If you want his best vocal song imo listen to Tess-Timony

a few words about resident evil: the Umbrella Corporation are the evil corporate empire that developed the T-Virus that caused the zombie plague. in the movies there is a female protagonist called Alice, as there is an Alice in Wonderland sort of undercurrent to the story line. all of the stuff in the video is either from one of the games or the movies. now you are caught up on that part but you appreciate it even without that very brief backstory, so please carry on.
