@@swarthygiant1463 nah you get there, most is just muscle memory. Many bands use similar techniques and stuff so you hear something and go "oh yeah he is doing some arpeggios" and then its easier to find on the guitar, visual playthroughs also help

You really learn your capabilities when learning parts quickly. It’s insane and you’re awesome for making the attempt. It took me five minutes each to dead flowers by the Stones and Still Remains by STP to figure the chords out. These complex riffs would take most weeks to figure. A lot would rage and move on

The percentage of subscribed viewers is pretty crazy actually compared to a lot of people's 10% I see. Also into the earth is a riff I tried learning (not by ear) and I could get it to a generous 70% speed. Got a humongous blister the likes of I've never had before in my life

Think you may have come up with a challenge that is a bit too tricky! Although you'd hope that chat would eventually start giving you some genuine interesting riffs rather than just trolling with techdeath. Would love to see this become a regular thing so I agree with some of the other suggestions - tuning time not included, and perhaps being able to bring up the tab if the riff is unrealistic to learn by ear...but if you do that, you then have to play it perfectly or you have to pay double.
