I was reform Ace Maker by evaporator similar to what is in the video, but Andm completed ice the size and showed dropped the course the snow does not fall in spite of the heating cycle is very good, and the problem in the heating well and freon Sulenad you can have trouble in the evaporator in which ice cubes consists

Those evaporators are a pain in the rear.. I had a couple Ice O matic "problematics" give me problems with the harvest assist motor, the ice push rod would come out of place and kept getting stuck ,ice machine would stay stuck in harvest! good job.. I see that your using a wet rag to clean up after you braze .."thumbs up that's the way to go"

Obviously no nitrogen purge, or the copper wouldn't have turned black inside, not good. That leaves oxidized copper inside the tubing, again not good, clogs shite up. Back to the basics man, I learned that back in 1985. If they're not teaching that now, then you went to a bad school to learn this trade. Next to an evap. coil, try 56% silver solder w/ flux, the pipe won't need to get as hot to maintain the silver soldering strength. ALWAYS purge Nitrogen to keep the inside of the pipe clean and not oxidized, it clogs up the TXV's an/or capillary tubes.

I think Ice O Junk pays 3hrs to replace an evap...no time for that. Don't get sucked into Ice-O-Matic warranty work.

Thanks! I called manufacturer and they gave me closest supply store near me, that supplier does not carry Manitowoc parts, they only Ice-o-matic. Good luck

+refrigeration tech Yes, It works nice now. But after I install this plate, found out that harvest assistant motor on the back of the plate is not working, had to drive 50 min to supply 50 min back to fix that motor. took all day to make it work. Thats actually Ice-O-Matic na Manitowoc

Excellent video, I have a GEM 1056 ICE O MATIC Person who bought it said it was making knocking noise? Specifically motor or rotor? If you know would appreciate it..thank you

Hi Seung. To my knowledge GEM series Ice-o-Matic is a nugget Ice machines. They completely different that one on the video (if not let me know). GEM machines have a cold cylinder instead of the plate as shown on the video, GEM has gear motor that shaves Ice out the cylinder. If gear box is bad it might sound very loud, but they very expensive. Other thing is a compressor - sometimes they start to be loud. Cant say for sure. Good Luck!

what was wrong with the other plate .... I have one that builds ice on the plate except a section in the center of the plate . perhaps coil separation but I can't tell . it's under warranty so I'm just going to replace it . also the nickel is peeling

If it is 1006, 1005, or 1007 get an adjustable txv. Super heat is off unless it is a dual tube 1006.

Is that a copper plated coil? Looks a right pain to braze to.

+heavydiesel its a nickel plated coil. one p/n for couple models (if not for all), end of it meant to be sanded down to copper, take a while to get to the copper to be able to solder.

Compressor suction valves might bypass refrigerant internally (bad compressor) or TXV stuck open (bad TXV)

+Jorge Vazquez might be overcharged, or bad low pressure switch - it controls how long freeze cycle is
