We did a thing called Cheeseburger run today, which is a 4 to 6 hour drive from Montgomery Texas through some beautiful backroads north and west lined with lots of ranches and cattle. The full loop circles within Sam Houston Forest . Our half-way point was a place called Yankee Tavern Grill, we stopped and had a LOT of cheeseburgers! There were about 40 jeeps in our group! The weather was in the high 70's. We really enjoyed coming home to enjoy your weekly episode, glad you found your way out and don't think we didn't catch your hints about 2023, we cant wait to see what you're going to do! xo

TIP FOR SMOOTH ICE SURFACE: recycling bucket or something similar, filled with hot boiling water, towel hanging out the back. drag along surface and refill as needed, will take care of all the bumps just like a zamboni would!

You could see the childlike joy on your faces. Playing hockey on the lake, ice fishing, and the snow dogs! Those look like fun. Can they pull an inner tube?? 🤔 Oh, plus coffee over the fire on the lake and that throw everything in a bowl and cook it! Yum! Looks delicious! You have many blessings to count!

I'm not much of a cold person. I spent fifty-five years in Southern California and near the beach. Your family shows me how much pleasure can be enjoyed outdoors during the winter in a cold climate. The only thing you need is an LED lit hockey puck for night hockey. I look forward each week to your vlogg. Thank you for sharing your family, knowledge and adventures. Be safe and God Bless 🙏🙌🙏

How does Landel's legs support the cold for so many hours. Hearing him cry makes me think he could be in pain. You certainly do have a ton of fun in the winter. There's never a dull moment. ❄☃️❄

Those snow dogs look fun and useful. They wouldn't take up much space in a shed in summer as a snowmobile would. Maybe Lando can get some running miles in now! Thanks for another fun update!

I think Lando was more excited about getting a Jeep ride than y'all lol!!!! Peter and Dan did an excellent job on the ice rink, very cool! Caroline we need to see more of you! You always do such an amazing job on these videos!!! Carolyn that meal may have been simple, however it looked delicious and very warming!!!! Pete you always do a great job of explaining things to us "Southern" folks. Really like to hear more about the lake. Is it man made or natural. I know you don't want to disclose y'all's "hideaway", however some basic information is always interesting. Safe travels to Mexico, get warm and a tan! As always thanks so much for allowing us to see your world!!!! BTW in my part of the world below freezing and negative temps. are always joined by high winds. So While I agree with you Pete I find myself bundled up in the house hahaha!

Just loved this episode so much full of excitement!!! You’re right Pete Snr it can be easy to just hunker down in the cabin and not do to much outside. Gosh you guys really know how to take advantage of the iced up lake for your adventuring. So much fun to watch. Loved the pond hockey and ice fishing that was seriously awesome. Dan made me chuckle convincing his brother to hop in the bucket to test weight carrying capabilities! I, like Carol was nervous for you venturing out looking for a safe way to get to the other side - amazing accomplishment and well deserved celebration (Carol’s excitement was wonderful). Lando was just itching to go adventuring again - that gorgeous dog just never ceases to amaze me. Brilliant production as always Caroline and wonderful memories made with more to come. Big hugs from NZ ❤

So glad to see you’ve adapted to the northern Ontario winter and are having fun enjoying the experience. I hate to be a buzz kill but you realize in Ontario helmets are required while snowmobiling on public lands, snowmobile registration sticker and liability insurance is also required, although your northern location may exempt you from paying a fee. Just saying, you don’t know maybe watching your videos. Please continue to produce the great content.

So nice to watch you all. Glad things are freezing up. I totally admire your respect for the "safe way" to do things. On that, I have bit of hard learned knowledge to share. Please find or make a blade guard for tou auger. Whenever it's not touching the ice, put the guard on. Also, when walking with the auger, carry it with the blades behind you. When you fall on the ice, you tend to fall on you back side. This throws the blade up and then down in you. Not good. When loading the auger on the sled, again, blades behind you. If the sled bounces, the blade is safe and you're safe. I've been on the wrong end of a flying auger. Good luck out there.

Not sure I understand the Sno Dogg appeal. We also have a water access cottage, which we use all winter, and with neighbours who live there. We use snowmobiles with toboggans to transport stuff, mostly the Pelican ones. Snowmobiles are way faster, much more comfortable and haul more too… at some point we will stay at our place through ice in, looks like fun.
