It wasn’t just about “a gang”. Tupac was loyal to Suge because Suge is the one that got him out of jail. Whether Suge would’ve been a blood or crip, Tupac would’ve rode for and had undying loyalty to him (and his crew, which happened to be MOB). Pac had Crip friends too. There was also a rumor on the streets going around that Puffy paid to have Deathrow chains snatched to put in videos. So Pac not only saw riding for the cause as being loyal to Suge, he saw it as being loyal to Deathrow too. This narrative is quite tired and really, it’s not any deeper than Tupac ultimately being loyal to Suge/Deathrow. That’s really what he died for.
