Midnight For You - Paul Hipp (1987, unreleased AOR - USA)

Good night, dreamers.
Not so long ago, I've watched Abel Ferrara's China Girl , 1987.
And I've found this song, which was composed and performed by Paul Hipp.
The movie, itself, is full of stereotypes and it's not a masterpiece, not even a cult.
But it has those 80s feelings that I kinda like it. I'm pretty sure that you know what I'm talking about.
Basicly it's the story of two secret lovers. Their love couldn't last that long, but it was true.
And this song is dedicated to the people of Little Italy and Chinatown...

I always loved that movie from the 80s. I just finished watching it too... Love this song! I looked it up - seems that Sari Chang quit acting and works for the Make a Wish foundation and for an architect firm.

Paul Hipp with this one song captured the spirit of the film. While not overly famous I truly believe this film made an impact on who has ever watched it. It certainly impacted me. I have watched the film numerous times and try to get family and friends to watch it. In Italy it's out on blu ray. I spot new things each time. Martine Scorsese's parents are in one scene!!

@@Icelake84 You're right this song has that 80s feel. Ferrara himself has said this is his favorite film of the ones he's directed. I love the film for the feel. It takes me back to the late 80s. I was in Little Italy in 1987 and back then it was different from today. Very emotional thinking of those days. I feel lucky to have grown up in the 80s. Dio benedica.

It's not full of stereotypes. It's like a modern Romeo & Juliet and that's why the Italians and the Chinese weren't friends in the movie. Even today there are people that do not want their child, family member to be with someone not of their race or religion.
