That windy, rainy night in Rafntni...... Perfect time for the added weight of a 4-season tent. LOL! Besides that, the landscape is so darn beautiful! Great words, "stand next to something that makes you feel small again." OMG, the waterfall footage. Amazing. And then....the volcanoes. Wow. Excellent documentary. Very well put together.

This is an amazing documentary! Just beautiful. The scenery, the camera and drone work, the editing all pull together like it was made by a major television network. But, it speaks to us hikers ever so much more clearly than those do because it happens on the trail. We see what we'd see if we were there with you. We see the wind and rain and know exactly what its like to (not) sleep in that tent as the wind is pulling the stakes and ravaging the walls. Thank you, Dixie, for sharing your trip with us in such an amazing way.

Thanks for sharing. The country is so primordial , I am struck by what seems like primitive plans growth and raw rock. It took 1.9 billion years before plants started to evolve. They been here for about 2.7 B years but flowering plants only appeared with bugs 1.7 M years ago. You saw a mosquito and butterfly’s and birds , you took us on a journey through time watching and experiencing the evolving Mother Earth , and now your mom. Very special. The next journey is spiritual, you will be amazed and I wish we could film . Peace to your Life and Heart Dixie .

I was there at the same time as you, my sister and I were able to hike to the volcano 3 days after it erupted and then they closed the trail that same night after we made it back to the car. It was one of the hardest hikes I've ever done. The trail after the switchbacks did not exist prior to it being closed, they worked hard to create a decent trail the days that it was closed, so the entire way to the volcano it was rocks and rocks and more rocks. It was nerve-wracking, on top of the harsh weather, fog, cold, constant fine rain, I was afraid that once we got to the volcano we wouldn't be able to see anything because the fog was so dense. But as we got close to it, everything cleared up and it was the most amazing and beautiful thing I've ever seen and experienced. 100% worth it, would do it all over again. This entire video was beautiful, Iceland cannot be described with words, it has to be experienced.

Oh my goddess! Jessica, you might really want to consider a career as a cinematographer and/ or a screenplay writer. Your choice of soundtracks is spot on. I have been a loyal fan ever since the beginning, so I'm no stranger to your talents, which have increased exponentially since your earliest days. But this one was epic. This one would 100% get my vote for Best Documentary Feature Film if i was eligible to vote. Bravo 👏 ❤

I have watched a lot of hiking videos over the last few years and seen some really epic ones and oddly enough three of them are yours Dixie. However this is by far the best Hiking video hand down I have seen. This video looks like it belongs on Netflix or something like that the quality of this video is beyond epic. Thank you for sharing it with us. Btw your the reason I have become interested in doing a thru-hike. I came across your hike of the AT a few years back and fell in love with thru-hiking and it's my dream to do one. Sense then I have become obsessed with hiking. I have done a few hikes that by time I was done I was in so much pain and was beyond tired but then I get back home and next day I'm sitting around and all I can do is think about getting back on a trail. I blame you for this and I thank you deeply from the bottom of my heart. You truly are a wonderful person. Your son is going to be such a lucky kid to have parents that will show him the world.

Wow Dixie! Just wow! Make that double wow!! I don't usually watch the longer hiking videos, but this was so worth the time. I saw your first video of your trip hiking in Iceland, but this time it was spectacular. Thank you so much for taking us along on such a fantastic trip, although fantastic may be a poor choice for that night of brutal wind in your tent. I take it all back for everything I've said about bad nights I've spent in my tent - you raised the bar so high! Looks like the volcano more than made up for the rough times on trail. Truly a trip of a lifetime. Thanks again! - Steve

I'm more of a Caribbean beach vacation kinda girl (as a relatively new hiker, starting about a year ago, I haven't done any destination hikes yet), but I'm absolutely revving to make this my next trip. I don't know that I'll actually be able to make it happen or, if I can, how long it will take me (I don't think my husband will have any interest in going, insane as that sounds, so it'll be a tough pitch for me to be able to go), but I have such a burning desire to go to Iceland now having just watched your video plus, right before it, someone else's video -- more of a tourism "around the island" kind of documentary. This was so incredibly beautiful and rugged and epic, I just can't get over it...and yet I'm sure it doesn't even compare to what it must've been like to have been there in person. Thank you so much for taking us along with you! As others have said, it honestly felt like we were right there with you experiencing the highs and lows. Absolutely incredible. Thank you, thank you. ♥️

Thanks for sharing your trip to one one of my favorite places on earth. I tried to get my family to do part of one of these hikes but they didn't want to do it so I'm glad I finally got to see what I missed. When did you film the volcano content. The volcano has had several eruptions since the one you filmed and the nearby town of Grindavik was evacuated and damaged. Again, thanks for the awesome video.
