Rennschnecke. This song and your recorded Icewind Dale soundtracks are one of my all-time favorite video game soundtracks. Please never take them down. I appreciate you for keeping them up this long. They help me as I run the gauntlet of the Abyss, and they give me a place of special comfort as I think of Kuldahar (perhaps also Kaldahar) as a sequestered home away from everything evil. Thank you.

"Fighting their way the goblin-infested valley of the pass, the survivors of the doomed Easthaven expedition at last came upon the small hamlet of Kuldahar. Nestled within the roots of a massive oak tree, the tiny cottages were a welcome sight for the weary travelers. As the party approached the town, a warm breeze blew over them, chasing away the chill of the frozen pass, and carrying with it the sweet scent of cooking fires".

They say games like this paved the way for newer and better RPGs. I partially disagree. I do believe it paved the way for newer RPGs, but not necessarily for the better.

BG3 has quite good OS, so all hope is not lost. And Morrowind (can't praise it enough)/Oblivion/Skyrim, obviously. The theme from the tavern in Planescape: Torment never leaves me too.

@OhSPY. Жыл бұрын
I highly recommend giving it a try. While it isn't as engrossing in terms of story as say, Baldur's Gate or Planescape: Torment, Icewind Dale is still such a beautifully made game with excellent battles and outstanding aesthetic and is a faithful addition to the D&D pantheon of crpgs.

@@OhSPY. As a kid, I liked Icewind dale more than Baldurs Gate. It was easier to know what to do (less time in walkthroughs) and I love making a party from scratch rather than recruiting NPC along the way. If only the undead part in the early game wasn't so long and tedious I would have loved it more. At least it's marginally better than the town/goblin part in IWD2.

@@gbpl1010 Icewind Dale, the Frozen North, surely lives up well to its name as it provokes that feeling even in the player themselves. It is but a single mark of a well-made game.
