The next bleach season extends the lore so fucking much, it’s actually impressive. You learn more about the soul king & other races + you get crazy fights (far better than anything the anime has shown so far).

The lore definitely expands massively, although honestly I personally can’t remember a single fight from that arc that I would consider to be great, only “decent to good.” Perhaps it was because Kubo was rushed, but the fights (while not bad by any means) were certainly the weakest part of TTYBW arc.

I love Final Getsugatensho a lot. But what does it mean? What does fused Zangetsu mean by accepting his blade? Ichigo throughout the series has not accepted his hollow powers. He always had an aversion towards it. It's understandable when you think about it. A hollow killed his mother so obviously he has a hate towards that kind of power. He was even taught by Rukia(who was taught by the Soul Society) that hollows are evil. But through the Arrancar arc, Ichigo slowly came to realise that isn't the case. Nel and her friends played a role in that. Even Grimmjow who represents the animalistic instincts of a hollow isn't evil. And it's finally here where Ichigo accepts his hollow powers as his own. That's what accepting my blade means. The fused Zangetsu was for the purpose of showing Ichigo that his shinigami powers and hollow powers are one and he should accept it. That's why they fought Ichigo together in a fused state. And when he finally accepted that he reached this state. This is what I love the most about Bleach. Ichigo's growth as a person is what makes him grow in terms of his powers. And it applies to everyone in Bleach. But as a MC, Ichigo's growth is what that we see the most. Ichigo learning Resolve, Instinct, balancing Reason and Instinct etc. All coincides with his powers growing as well. People often mistake what Kisuke said at the end about the hogyoku rejecting Aizen as truth. Kisuke purposefully said that to make sure Aizen was in an agitated state and not able to think clearly so as to not evolve from the seal he placed on him. Aizen literally completed the fusion with the hogyoku, so the hogyoku in no way would reject him. Aizen was also healed by the hogyoku after Mugetsu making Kisuke's statement wrong. That conversation between Aizen and Urahara at the end is so good. For anime only it's a foreshadowed moment. As for the people who read the last arc, look up on Ubermensch philosophy on Aizen Vs Urahara. Although it can be explained to anime only people, you can't understand it without the full context.

People often critique Bleach by saying that Ichigo's jumps in power are ridiculous and while I do understand where they're coming from, as it's much more entertaining (usually) to see a powerless hero rise to the occasion and becoming the best of the best, Bleach was never about that. Ichigo, from day one, was the super mega badass with all of the powers inside him. And that's why the usual shounen MC character arc of going from zero to hero never worked for Ichigo. He never wanted to be the best, he just wanted to have enough power to protect his loved ones. But what happens if said power can turn against him or disgust him? Ichigo's story was never about him gaining power, but about him accepting his power. That's what the Mugetsu form is: it's Ichigo accepting all of the powers inside him and becoming one with them. That's why it's one of the most powerful forms in the lore, because Ichigo is pushing everything he has to the limit, even if he has to lose it all afterwards. It was, in the end, a bittersweet victory. He protected his friends...but not Zangetsu.

Also, yeah, Kisuke was counting on Ichigo's attack to temporarily deplete Aizen's power, thus activating the seal. Then, throw in some mental warfare to break Aizen's ego and the Hogyokou didn't act in time to save Aizen from being sealed, since Aizen didn't command it to do so.

As for people saying Ichigo's power jumps are ridiculous, it's mostly anime only people, but with the anime coming back it'll help in getting the full context. But for the rest, they simply look at Bleach based on standards set in other series like hard work for example. They don't realise growth as a person is what determines his power increase.

The thing about the whole Fullbring arc debate in the chat is that there's a difference between the arc being essential and the arc being well done. TLDR: Just enjoy it and let others enjoy/dislike the series in their own way. To some people in the chat I saw, how important it is = how great it is. I'd personally disagree. An arc can be important but not paced well or executed too monotonously, and vice versa. Sure, Ichigo went through a lot of character development and it led up to the TYBW arc, but was it the greatest? That's subjective. To others, how great an arc is is how hyped it was. There are also people who would say the Fullbring arc was essential AND well executed. And there will be those who say neither. For me, it's a balance between leveraging on the action and plot/character development. People can argue about it for all it's worth but without an objective way to measure how "good" an arc is, it's pretty pointless imo.
