I would like to pass on another way of building the hexagram. I don't know where I found it. I think I remember it was two math guys. And I think they said this has as near a mathematical probability as using the yarrow stick method. I fold a piece of paper into 16 sections, cut them out, & on 7 I put broken lines, on 5- solid line, 3 with lines with a circle in the middle that changes to a broken line, & 1 piece of paper with a line with an X in the middle that changes to a solid line. Fold each & put them in a hat or something you can draw them out of. Write your question down and draw the folded pieces of paper out of the hat to make your hexagram, or in the case of changing lines, hexagrams. It's important that after a line is drawn & recorded you put the paper back in the hat before drawing another. That way every draw from the hat has the same mathematical probability. I use this most of the time. It has enough to do to keep my mind on my question. Occasionally I get deep & religious, or just feel like the exercise & bring out "the pups", my yarrow sticks, which I love. Thank you all. May your time with your Oracle be interesting & well spent.

I found the above way of building the hexagram It's on the internet in "Yarrow or coin| I Ching with Clarity. It's on the right hand side of a small diagram about mid page.

Here is some additional info to contemplate with regard to Yarrow as an extraordinary plant related to the I Ching: Yarrow is also said to grow around the grave of Confucius. It is said the most effective way to cast the I Ching is by using yarrow straws ... yarrow has the ability to brighten the eyes and promote intelligence. Yarrow and tortoiseshells are both considered good luck in Chinese traditions. ... (www.whiterabbitinstituteofhealing.com/herbs/yarrow/) Note that in Asia some practitioners that don't take time for stalks use a a tortoise shell for casting coins. Although, I am not sure if that is halal/kosher as it usually costs the life of a tortoise. From another source: " Use of Yarrow as a natural medicine dates back to more than 60 thousand years and this was proved by its presence on the body of a Neanderthal." (ayurvedicoils.com/tag/ayurvedic-health-benefits-of-yarrow-essential-oil) Few herbs have a potential 60 thousand year old tradition. It was with the Neanderthals as well, with their larger brains than humans, and finally: picture it being used by them just south of the withdrawing glaciers after the last ice age. An advantage with yarrow stalks is the sensuality and focusing benefit of moving them through a plume of incense prior to use. See to it to burn pure natural incense in a 3 footed incense burner for optimal reverberation with the essence of the I Ching. Sure it is time consuming but equally quality enriching. Also, always meditate before consultation. Even more time consuming, hehehe ...

What about I ching cards?
@IChingCafe2 ай бұрын
Great question. I Ching cards are very useful and if they work for you then go for it. Mathematically speaking they will give you a lower accuracy then coins, and even more so with yarrow sticks, yet the point is for it to be useful and meaningful and the cards can indeed be that. Thank you!
@guntadauge23552 ай бұрын
@@IChingCafe Yes, I think cards is beautiful art peace and some extra layer for learning, but not for divination. You can't see changing lines in there too.

To be honest, unless you have enough 修行 (cultivation of the field) [A] and you tap into the power of 神/仙 (taoism deities) [B] or the power of your 祖师 (master's ancestories) [B], then it might work. Your 修行 [A] should be powerful enough or if you were born gifted with powers. Else it will never really work. If without [A] and [B], it's just random throw without any power just like throwing a dice (unless either your [A] or [B] is strong enough. If you have neither one, then you want it to work, then you are dreaming). App is frankly just for fun (totally no power at all). But without [A] and [B], and it works, this where it might get dangerous, as an unknown entity is making it work. The unknown entity can be anything, even 魔/鬼/妖 (demons or ghosts).

Thank you so much for sharing your perspective. On this channel we subscribe to the view that every person has power in their own life and our task is to cultivate it and apply it for good in our service to each other and to our purpose. Furthermore, a quantum physics approach in thinking about the casting process would best describe my views here. Best wishes.
