I've been asked to make an airplane cake for my son in law's bday and I'm super anxious! Any suggestions you'd like to share that's not in the video? Lol Also, is modeling chocolate the same as fondant? I'm thinking I've actually asked that question before but can't remember. Lol

Tammy Gunnels yay! I would do the wings and other modeling chocolate parts the day before so they can harden. Make sure the cake is well chilled before carving. Also I didn’t use this for the video but I actually have found that a flexible plastic scraper is a lot easier for smoothing buttercream on curved objects. Have fun!!

Where can I find the template for the airplane to carve the cake?

What I did was look up airplane schematics 747 on Google images and then I cut pieces of paper to represent the different parts so that they would look the same. I used a long slim piece of cardboard for the middle of the plane. So before starting the cake, just look at the schematics and cut a few pieces of paper for the various parts.
