You can downgrade an iPhone 5 from iOS 10.3.4 to iOS 8.4.1. Then you can dualboot untethered to iOS 6/7.

I remember in early 2013 and I was working in an auto parts shop, I saw this phone in an authorized reseller here in the Philippines. Held the demo unit and it's so beautiful. I never really liked the design of 6-11 (I had a 6s plus and it is a good phone but I am not enjoying looking at it) but I'm glad apple went back to the boxy design of the 4 and 5.

I saw that data test was based in Phoenix, Arizona. That’s kind of crazy because I was born there. I never owned the 5 but I did own the 5S and I upgraded from the 4 I had that was an old phone my dad no longer used and I loved the fingerprint scanner that became standard until the 10 came out. I remember being so excited at the time even as simple as getting Low Power mode because the 4 I had was really messed up, wouldn’t let me update anything alongside some other issues. Now it’s really crazy to see how much phones have evolved over the years.

Mine still receives service in the US. It was getting full bars of 2G in New Jersey. It is a lot more spotty than it was just a few years ago because 3G doesn't exist now, and 2G is going away. The camera is worse than my now dead iPhone 4S, probably because there's debris behind the camera glass, but in very specific conditions, it can get pictures just like the iPhone 4S used to before it died.
