This is pretty amazing. Wish there was a more affordable way to upgrade from CC3/IC7 to CC4/IC8.

@Nat Wang_Reallusion I truly hate to be and am not typically a complainer but also same feelings about the upgrade price! I have CC4 and its insanely GOOD, but I cant afford to upgrade to iclone 8 from my copy of iClone 7, and it doubly sucks that you can't even buy 3dexchange any more so my version iclone 7 is actually not really usable for me at all... If its not possible to reward your loyal customers with a better upgrade discount, my other suggestion is if you guys could add a payment plan where it would finance over a couple of months, rent to own (splice does this) or even a partnership with paybright for financing (awesome cause they include Canadians). I am certain you would see a real spike in sales and satisfied returning customers. Everyone LOVES the perpetual license and its a HUGE draw to your products compared to cloud/monthly models, but a little extra discount or payment options for someone like me who has upgraded to CC4 but is stuck on iclone7 would be really really wonderful. I am dying to get my hands on iClone 8.

Even though she's using hair cards, there is a way to get to get more control to make it look like individual strands move-when necessary for different hair parts. I've created a feedback tracker post with an example "Cloth VS Cloth enabled with Hair Physics & look of multi strands working on a body that also has physics enabled for skin -working" I'm trying to inspire Reallusion to expand on the physics more in many areas for realism.

Quick question (but urgent) pls: what about the skin weights of the hair? I mean rigging. I was getting a jagged result with auto weight transfer on my custom hair mesh, so I painted all to 1 value to the head, but now the hair looks stiff and unresponsive to the weight map… what’s the best way to tackle this? Thanks so much again

Yup! So sorry about this, silly me.. I sometimes get blocked when I’m stressed, I forgot to review this comment, if I’m not mistaken I think I just needed to click on the flag icon for soft cloth simulation… sorry if I mislead anyone else. Great vid as usual, thanks a lot

Amazing tutorial!!! the physics bake is going to save me hours in blender - I was using FBX before and just getting myself into all kinds of trouble lol

How to bake the simulation ? Will it work if I export it as an fbx then import it into blender? Will the cloth sim transfer as key frames and work as in iclone?

thank you for these helpful videos! I really wish I can understand how some of these weight maps actually. I get the concept, but then when I actually look at them, I can't seem to understand why some of these work. I wish I could send you a Dress asset and see how you manage it. I tried making a weight map using Blender and failed miserably...

excited to test it out! i wonder how was the unwrapping done? and I have 2 separate meshes for my skirt. is it possible to use this method?

All I miss in this would be realistic breast and glute simulation and would be perfect. I do wonder though if say someone is creating animations to be used with Unreal Engine would be there any real point in doing the cloth/hair simulation or would it be better off just having UE take care of that.

How is the hair physics for long hair styles? Is it like any other cloth sim that you have to spend hours dialing in settings so it doesn't freak out and fly all over the place?

Hello there - When I export my CC4 character from CC4 or iClone 8 to UE5.1 - The skirt works fine - but the hair does not have physics? Any idea why please?

Hello, I want to disable ground shadows, but keep the ones on the character. If I disable the character shadows, the ground shadow gets disabled but the shadows on the body disapear as well. I want to disable only ground shadows.

Hey does anyone knowhow to export Hair physics to blender. I saw a tutorial online explaining a bit and it mentioned about exporting as an alembic (abc.) file. I did this, but after exporting it to blender the hair just shows up as a single vertice. Really wish they would have touched on this more.

Please make a tutorial on how to make cloth physics look this good in unreal, every time i try working with cloth in unreal i end up with stiff garbage that collides with the character mesh 😔nothing even close to this.

I find if I dont put it on the minimum setting the hair or cloths explode like a bomb or they melt off my body .

This is good but wasn't soft cloth physics only in the older iClone 7 not the corresponding CC3 , on that generation of software ?

How to generate the weight map? When I try to enable physics, its asking to select material and a weight map corresponding to that

My big issue is, say, a clothing has multiple elements. The weight mapping just makes them all fall apart from one another, and I can't annimage, say, a long tassel with a bead on it, since I can't merge the bead into the model fully as one, not a seperate element!

I am having problems exporting my character to Unreal Engine 5, even after fixing all the collisions, when I export, my fbx file, the clothes inside Unreal Engine 5 are leaking

I hope for UE5 live link physics tutorial. When I transfer Iclone character to UE5, every physics setting is messed up.

The most common mistake in Reallusion tutorials is that there is no detailed procedural pattern for people to follow along and literally make the same thing or small scene as in the video. It’s always like “I’ll explain it later” and never will. For example, how does one select the hair or skirt of the character when there is only the whole character in Scene menu? I actually read the 560-page PDF when I first bought iClone a decade ago, but the video tutorials are just as unhelpful as back then.

The answer: click on the triangle next to character name, it opens the charcter submenu. See? Took me fifteen seconds to explain it.

@@jaripeltola Yeah. These tutorials are terrible... Very hard to follow. I still break every single cloth, every single time. Have no idea how it can work, even with weight maps.

So iClone can do cloth and hair physics in realtime, why cant Maya? if I apply nCloth on a character hair, its simulation will be slow, anybody know why?

why not take 10 min and explain everything in more detail, you could have shown the blender steps but just assume we all know blender. I don't want to learn blender so a step by step process would have been nice. It is like you always rush through your "tutorials" , call it speed runs. Is there a limit on how long you can make your video's ? it feels like you are just pushing out these 9min videos so that you can say YOU have tutorials. Please take more time and do proper tutorials, this is basically useless.

Hi @SkyHandOneTen, Please pay special attention to the 5:45 mark in the video. You'll find the ""Collision Shape"" settings in the Modify panel.

This simulation doesnt work well. The same basic clothes give me glitches and artefacts. Robes downloaded from your Reallusion marketplace are even worse. None of the robes are properly weightpainted, this is horrible.

@@gregorybennings8718 Everyone knows how to activate physics etc from CC4. Getting the Weight Map is the problem, and he shows none of it. skipping the Blender part by drawing one line, while some of us are wondering how did he get there, and how did he actually paint that Weight Map. All other weight map tutorials talk about Rigs and skeletal meshes, but most of us don't have those... So how is it done then? These tutorials have a habit of skipping some vital information.
