In January 2024, Royal Caribbean will welcome its first Icon-class ship, the Icon of the Seas. This colossal vessel is set to claim the title of the world's largest cruise ship, surpassing even the Oasis-class Wonder of the Seas.
Royal Caribbean's Icon of the Seas will offer amazing new features including a water park, infinity pools, and dedicated area of the ship for families!
Designed from the ground up, the Icon of the Seas offers an astonishing array of options, be it cabins, dining, entertainment, or activities. With a capacity for over 7,600 guests and an impressive length of 1,198 feet, this ship truly stands as a maritime marvel.
Within its 20 decks, including 18 dedicated to guests, you'll find an astonishing eight neighborhoods. Among these, five are entirely new and captivating: AquaDome, Thrill Island, Chill Island, Surfside, and The Hideaway. AquaDome, perched at the ship's bow, is an architectural marvel boasting a glass-enclosed dome. This space transforms from breathtaking panoramic views during the day to a hub for entertainment at night, housing the signature AquaTheater, complete with a 50-foot waterfall. This AquaTheater features shows such as "Aqua Action" and s kids' favorite "Pirates & Mermaids." AquaDome also hosts a range of fantastic restaurants and bars, including Rye & Bean and the seafood hotspot Hooked, as well as the novel AquaDome Market, a food hall concept housing five distinct stalls. These stalls offer a delectable variety from sweet and savory crepes to Asian-inspired dishes, providing something for every palate.
Not far from AquaDome, you'll find the Overlook Bar, with its breathtaking views and four Avatar-style pods. Chill Island, situated across three decks in the ship's center, boasts four of the ship's seven pools, including the innovative Swim & Tonic swim-up bar, the expansive Royal Bay pool, the adults-only Cloud 17, and the awe-inspiring Cove Pool. Here, you'll also discover the Lime & Coconut Bar serving frozen drinks.
Thrill Island, located on the top deck, boasts the colossal Category 6 waterpark, a high-energy thrill-seekers' paradise, featuring an array of exhilarating waterslides, including the heart-pounding Pressure Drop and The Frightening Bolt. Moreover, there's the brand-new Crown's Edge, an adventure-packed skywalk, ropes course, and obstacle course suspended 154 feet above the open ocean. Additionally, the popular FlowRider surf simulator and a rock-climbing wall can be found here, along with an adventure-themed mini-golf course.
You'll also have the opportunity to savor a meal at the new Basecamp grab-and-go eatery.
For families, Surfside offers a haven with two splash-and-play areas, Pier 7, a family-friendly restaurant where kids dine free, and other dining options like The Lemon Post, a bar serving soft drinks and adult beverages. Surfside also features lounge areas, an arcade, a carousel, and an adult-exclusive lounge pool.
In the Hideaway on Deck 15, you'll encounter the suspended infinity pool, which offers unmatched views from its vantage point 135 feet above the ocean. A multilevel terrace, whirlpools, a dedicated bar, and ample lounge areas ensure relaxation at its finest.
