CAP Agree there too. The Chevies and GMCs of 67-72 were the second best looking. The mid to late 50's GM trucks were the best looking, I think.. But honestly, I've never met an early 50's thru late 80's American pickup that I didn't like. :-D But I was practicing constraint when I made my first comment. 🤣

My grand pa had this same truck, but RWD, red color, in the early 70s. He took me for rides around the country roads, when we got home I started to cry every time because I wanted to keep going. Now I'm grown up in my early 50s, am thinking to buy one of these trucks to drive it around on week ends, that will bring lots of wonderful memories of a happy childhood.

So this brings back my truck lust from childhood. I used to ride in my Granddad's truck; very much like this one, doing farm work, fishing trips, and whiskey visits with his friends. I remember riding in that truck the first time I was offered a sip of shine. (It was a different world back then). I loved that truck and this brings back so many memories. Wonderful job on this build Jonathan!!! Thanks for the memories.

This is my dream truck. I had a '76 F250 when I was a kid and I loved it. It was so old and ratty that I couldn't keep it, but I'll always miss that vehicle. I used to be able to watch the road go by through the hole in the floor and I miss that. I don't know why, I mean it was objectively a junk vehicle but something in my head clicks the nostalgia button on when I see one

My jaw is on the floor. This is such an AMAZING truck. I'm not usually one for 'resto-mods' or putting new stuff on the old vehicles, but dang... you can't even tell!! They did this with so much care for the original styling, and in many ways improved on things without changing the appearance (seat, dash, etc.). I can't even begin to imagine the cost of this project -- probably more than I'll make in several years -- but kudos to Mr. Ward and ICON. You have my respect!

I agree. While the 'Derelict' look appeals to a lot of enthusiasts, to me, a 'restomod' isn't really a 'classic' or even a 'survivor', anymore. A restomod deserves well, full-on restoration! Which the Reformer option does quite nicely in this application!

A quick view of all the comments show how many folks really do appreciate the finer details. It is always refreshing to see a new ICON vehicle. Whatever the type - Reformer, Derelict, or whatever Jonathon Ward decides to turn his teams loose on - They become the flagships of our hobby. The great videos deserve mention as well. This truck is a great build! My Dad had a '70 Ford F100 Ranger 2WD...man, I remember riding in that baby when I was a very small boy, just a seat belt across my lap, my dad shifting on the column while alternating drags off his Winston cigarettes. SBC 302, three on the tree, bench seat, lots of metal in the interior. My dad seemed so young and vital driving his rig and putting his time in being a good dad and provider. So much fun, I get misty-eyed thinking about it. I wish I had the cheese to get him another one almost like it before he leaves us for good. And a blue '66 Impala coupe with a 327 with a 4 speed. Thanks, Pop!

Jonathan Ward Wow! I know this day would come; I just did not know that it would come so soon. In 1982 I bought a 1972 F100 8 ft. long fleetside Ford pickup. The engine is a straight-six 240 with a three-speed on the column manual transmission. It had under 100,000 miles when I bought it and I put 150,000 miles on it. I was told that it would never be a collector’s truck but now it is. Cool, I will drive my truck thinking I am now in style. Have a good day.

My Dad had picked up a 1970 F250 Longbed Highboy about 25 years ago, and we used it as our field service truck for several years. It's got the old 390 iron head that never worked exactly right. It has the 4 speed manual and part time 4X4 with lockouts. It's retired now, and sitting in our polebarn along with my 66 GMC I1000 I'm hoping to restore someday. We also had an F100 1970 that Dad had bought in the mid 1970's but he sold that one a few years ago. Exact same body style but it was a 2X4 instead of 4X4. That one only saw winter use on nice days. It had the 360 from the factory which was the same block as the 390. My uncle also had an F250 as his service truck. He had replaced the engine at one point because it was getting a little tired, so Dad put that engine in his F100 because his 360 had gone out. We ran it that way until he sold it. Even a tired 390 was better than the 360.

The 95mph top speed logged on the dash cluster is all I need to tell me this IS one sweet truck. Great job, I hope the owner enjoys it, I know I would.

Soooo clean and tasteful! Perfect modernization of this classic. My second car was a '78 (10 years old then) round-headlight Bronco. Very similar body with the clamshell hood. 400M with 4 speed, granny low 1st. Full of character, but smooth over rough pavement it was not.

Looks super nice. Wish I could take it for a spin. It sits a bit high for my liking and not sure about the raised bed floor but really think its top quality build. Would be nice to see some close up shots under the front end.

the raised bed floor bothers me. why go to THAT level of perfection and do that. My guess is that its somehow the customers fault.
