I would love to see a review of the PTX pro next. This was perfect timing on the Hogan review for me. I've become mildly obsessed with researching their newer clubs and the history of the company. Seriously considering a switch from my Sim2 irons to one of the Hogan sets.

This set literally is the PTX Pro and Icon irons from 4 years ago given a re-run. Not complaining they are amazing.

I was a caddy during the same time period and I remember a lot of members had Hogans. Being a kid, they weren’t as “cool” to me as clubs like the Tommy Armour 845’s. That’s what all of us kids in high school played with. 😅. Good times!

Good video. I'm glad to see that Hogan is back again. I still have a set of Ft Worth 15 irons from Hogan 24 degrees, down to 52 degrees in 4 degree increments, they just have the loft on them, no numbers. I really wish other manufacturers would do that, especially the 4 degress between clubs, which works out great for me when it comes to gapping. I'd still be playing them if it weren't for wrist issues, and needing lighter graphite shafts now.

Big Ben Hogan iron fan. I have three sets. First set I bought was the PTX irons about 5 yrs ago, the last set I just bought was the Icons, they are beautiful irons, I got the black ones and the coating is amazingly very durable, no fading what so ever so far. Their UIHI hybrid irons are very nice as well, I have the 4 & 3 UIHI's. I just received the Legato golf balls and used one in a round yesterday. I normally use the Vice Pro Pluses and I noticed no difference at all. Felt the same of the putter as well. Thanks for the tip, they're almost $10 cheaper as well. Do not be afraid to buy Hogan Irons, they are great irons for the money!

If it is just a set of irons you are testing how about playing the par 3's from your normal tee box and then move up to the lady or senior tees for the other holes so you can just hit all irons for the 9 holes? Really highlight what the 3-5 irons are all about as well.

Thanks for the review. I’m in the market for a new set of irons and I’ve actually been thinking of the Hogan’s. The best stretch of golf I’ve ever played was 2002-2008. I did it with a set of Hogan Apex irons. Watching this will help with my decision.

I had a set of Apex irons back in the day and after years I wanted to get back to playing but I'm not quite as sharp so I got the combo set last year which was the PTX pro and icon blend basically rebranded as this you won't regret it they feel amazing and are excellent performing clubs

The Hogan Edge--35 years ago--was the first cavity-backed forged iron. Such a wonderful club. As soon as Hogan comes up with single-length clubs, I'll take a closer look.

The Hogan line is beautiful, cheap, but blades, tough for midhandicappers like me! I have a set of Apex Edge I bought on eBay for $185 they were in very good shape but stiff, I still like them though! Thanks Gabe

You should try the PTX Pros. Same great qualities and more forgiving. Also, you can bend them 2° stronger to help with the distance.

Thanks for the review.. even though these irons would not work for me, they do look really nice and classic. I would lean more to edge EX Ben hogan. They claim to be a game improvement iron.

Hogan Irons are tops. I have set of Hogan PTx Pro whcih have great lofts, and more forgiveness but only lack choice of shafts available...Price is great also...

An honest review of what these irons are.. and aren't. I always liked the idea of combo iron sets when they made waves in the early 2000's,, like the Nike forged pro combo, and one I really wanted the Maxfli A10 tour limited. Heck, even the Tour guys are substituting different long irons sometimes even mid irons. Makes sense.

I have the icon blades and they are actually 1/2 degree weaker every club but I have the Miura TC-201 so I only practice the the Hogans now but my 50,54,58 are Hogan equalizer wedges

Are they actually back? I was set to order a set just before they closed their doors prior to the pandemic. Played my best with their Apex Plus. Their wedges were great.

The Hogan Irons are among the most beautiful irons made. I've loved them since I was a kid. I have an old PTx Pro setup from when I started back playing four years ago and they are just absolutely sweet to hit. My only complaint, as, at the time, a golfer getting back into the game as an older dude, was the lofts were just not what I needed. But boy did they feel sweet off the club. That seven iron flew beautifully and landed softly, only it was about 135 yards to 140 with rollout. Not terrible but a bit too short for a guy on the back end of his 50s. So the P790s are in the bag. But boy it makes me wish I was 35 again. I'd love to hit these.

My first set of clubs was a hogan set, some of the prettiest clubs I’ve ever played. Unfortunately Hogan clubs just ain’t built for high handicappers and given the prestigious name maybe they ought not cater to us weekend hackers. If I was a scratch golfer they would be high if not top of my list.

I still have a set of Hogan Apex Plus from the late 90's. They're still the best feeling irons when you hit the sweet spot I've ever played. I thought Callaway bought Hogan? Does this mean Callaway is making Hogan their premium line, or does a new entity own the brand?

Golf brands inc makes them under licence from Perry Ellis. They also make MacGregor and Ram.

I have always loved the look of the Ben Hogan‘s irons. The problem is I’m a lefty and they only have the one set that actually is lefty. I had looked at Ben Hogan‘s before I got my Tacoma‘s and I didn’t like the look of the Lefty I really wanted the like the ones on your video and they don’t offer Lefty nor do they offer the ability to Put them in a left-hand..

To me Gabe you would have played better had you struck the ball first and then the ground... Only a good representation of the Hogan clubs should when you are on your A game and hitting solid shots. No fatties!

Gabe honestly, yes you were hitting greens but the distance from the pin wasn't ideal and the sound coming off the club, you weren't catching the ball solid..these irons are for elite players, whereas the Wilsons and Maltby are for mere mortals as myself, which is most of us..

These are not "NEW". They were out, then went out of business and a new group brought them back and honored none of the warranties. Good clubs but I gave mine away....
