Everyone complaining about warnings being too late... You should watch the video first before attempting anything. Learn it, see if it's something you feel comfortable doing and then start it again following it step by step. You'll know what to be aware of this time around and get everything done properly if you already know what to expect. I was able to fix an iPad for a friend without any problems using this same tutorial. Thanks a lot for the upload man!! 👍🏼

After spending way too much time with other videos that did not explain the details that could go wrong. . .yours did explain everything and gave the correct technical jargon for all the parts so I knew exactly what to do. Luckily I did remove the glass correctly. then I found your video. I would have loved to use the tape j matos and F murry suggested. much glass all over and I am still stepping on it. No other video suggested the heat in the replacement glass which totally makes sense. You have a huge fan here too! Great job. I pad glass replaced and it still works!!! I am my 12 yr old's hero thanks to you.

Thanks again.

I just "successfully" replaced the glass to my iPad2 following your video! Firstly, let me say, it was probably the most nerve wracking thing I have EVER done in my entire life... Secondly, THANK YOU, for making such a thorough video. While I did not purchase the iCracked kit, and did not have all the bells and whistles of said kit, I got through the process rather smoothly with the tools provided by the generic kit I purchased from Amazon... By "rather smoothly", I mean I had a tiny glitch... I disconnected the little cable to the board to the right of the home button and had a major freak out moment, ok, I almost lost it and started to cry, because I thought I had completely destroyed all that I had accomplished, but after carefully placing the cable underneath the board and sealing the whole thing up, everything is in working condition. I was unsure what to do with the cable, as far as trying to connect it to the board, such as soldering or gluing it, but thought that so long as the cable made contact with the board, all would be well...and it is...but I'm not sure what, if any, long lasting effect this will have, any suggestions/ideas...

Excellent video thank you. My iPad works perfectly again! To potential users of this video - I highly suggest you watch the whole thing first. Then set yourself up with the video nearby so you can watch again for the 2nd time WHILE you are making the repair. Have good lighting, and all of your tools ready and you should be good to proceed. For $28.99 for the kit and an hour and a half of time, this was well worth it. The kit I purchased had the adhesive already installed on the bezel which was probably a time saver.

Thank you so much. I just followed your instructions, sat down for an afternoon and fixed my sisters iPad 2. Thankfully it wasn't the cellular edition. It went perfectly wifi antenna intact and power cord everything working just as it was like new. To all those experiencing trouble. Slow down, take your time! 3/4 of the battle is taking off the old glass (digitizer) the other 1/4 is just making sure the lcd panel is absolutely clean before you put the new glass on because it's not coming off again. I recommend using the heat gun again after placing the new glass. for a more complete and solid seal and it will re seal even if u were a little less through like me and skipped the step of removing all of the old adhesive. Not the black adhesive strips but the leftover glue I just left there.

Performed the repair, screen worked for a few hours but then started the phantom typing, selecting icons at random etc. I have noticed that the glass in the corner of the digitizer ribbon has risen up.... so I figure that the ribbon did not fit in properly is part of my issue but may not be the whole problem. Would you agree? And if so, should I reheat and open the digitizer to try and properly position the cable? Or am I just beating a dead horse at this point?
@wsvitak9 жыл бұрын
Did you have any luck with this? Mine was doing the exact same thing. Seemed to work at first than started the phantom crap. Top video. Laptops are the same in that theres power on the screen connector ALL times, so if you misaligned it on connect or removal , its bye bye screen!. So other videos just show screen removal and replacement without killing battery , so this vid is excellent as precautions and careful touch is needed on these small scale devices. Best video i think of many on Ipads. 3 thumbs UP!! Take your time on Digitizer screen removal as old glue can be VERY reluctant to let go and you can tweak the plastic and its game over. One i did took over a hour of slow heating and inch by inch around, and the antennas will be glued and they have to be unstuck from screen THEN you can lift it up CAREFULLY and pivot to left. Dont rush this procedure!! Dont know if i would want to be a Apple tech ungluing these all day and replacing broken screens ect.. Laptops are way easier and safer to work on!! haha Excellent tip for that little power pad lifter made from thin plastic.
