In Hungary on the Danube river we fish for them with feeder or bolo tactics. But the average size for them is a bit bigger. You rarely get one smaller than a pound. Also, the predatory behaviour is true, I've caught my biggest on a shallow crankbait, it was about 5,5 pounds.

Ide are fantastic sport in the cold winter months, they’ll often feed when nothing else will. Had some big uns’ out the river too lately, 4lb 4oz being the largest.
