Glad you found a dolly to love. There is a person who re-hairs and re-eyes dawn dolls. She does really nice work. She adopts out Crissy's too, you should have a look at some of hers. She is in Australia. Her facebook page is Ideal Crissy Doll & Family Re-roots & Re-vamps It is fun to look at.

Lord Lord sweety, I love my dolls . I remember playing with my great grandmas dolls. Here were dolls from late 1800 to early 1900. Her bed was full of them. She lived in a 1 room shot gun shack!. Her essentials were home made counter a table and 2 chairs and wood burning stove... And a big brass bed full of her beautiful babies! One being a life size ballerina which I was allowed to dress once in ! I have a great love for my dolls. And I see it that in you hon. I'm rerooting an old dime store doll similar to yours. First time 😓. I'm not into these new little girls dolls. But my dolls can bring me a happy memory at a glance and I can't help but to pick them up a affection. God bless

Luv your vid, I didn't know about the twirling Crissy, good on you, she looks lovely all dressed up 🙃 ... My fave of all dolls was my Crissy doll, always first over Barbie & Ken HA... Mine had mid length hair & the dark orange lace dress w/red in the long bow & undies + shoes... I've not seen one exactly the same pictured as I don't remember mine having a bob, her hair was more shoulder length which made lovely braided patterns over her longer hair 💖 Mum even recovered a toy parasol in matching orange / lace & other outfits. It's a shame they're all gone, destroyed in house robbery the day before we moved. All the boxes were strewn around the yard & even up in the trees... Good to still have all the fun memories tho💖...

Oh wow this was so interesting, thank you ❤ I was born in 1970 and didn’t have a Crissy doll. I remember getting Barbies and a Raggedy Ann, and when I was 6 I got a Baby Alive doll. I think Crissy’s face is so pretty with her big smile and her inset eyes. I really should add one to my doll collection! They seem to be pretty plentiful on eBay, but I’ll take the time to educate myself on what to look for before getting one. You video was extremely helpful in that respect, thank you again and happy new year 2023 😊

You have an amazing Crissy collection! I've only seen a Kerry doll at a flea market I go to often, but I didn't buy her because she was in pretty bad shape. She had no clothes, her hair was matted and dirty, the hair mechanism didn't work right, and there was this icky brown stuff coming out of her eyes. 😨 But, I'm still hoping to own a Crissy doll someday. My faves are Velvet and Tressy. :3

venusstarpower94 Good luck on your hunt. There are some really good Crissy sites on the web that fix up dolls and offer them up for sale. Do a search. I've never understood why people can't clean up a doll before they sell it. I can see if they offer it at rock bottom prices but many are still expensive. Just clean up the doll, All dolls that come in my house get a sponge bath.

I bought a Baby Crissy in the past yr or so, at an antique mall. I wanted her so badly because I have memories of being a child at Xmas and getting her from Santa. Im very happy to have one for my collection. Fun video, thanks

I’m fifty now, but when I was little I had Velvet and I loved her so much! Then I had Cinnamon Velvet’s little cousin. I remember my Cinnamon had regular eyes, not painted on eyes! She also had a dusting of freckles across her nose.

I was lucky enough to get my mum's childhood Crissy doll (she was born in 1970). I now own a Swirla-Curler Crissy doll! Apart from the fact that her arms have completely lost their colour (due to the way she was stored), she was in spectacular condition. I even got the Swirla-Curler curling wand with her as well! I'd love to get a Velvet doll one day to keep her company! Edited to Add: We have since bought a secondhand Crissy who was in really poor shape, and we swapped their arms. Now she is perfect again!

Janis you know of a black fat or chunky crissy doll. I know I had a big chunky black crissy doll and her black hair moved in and out with a string also. I can't seem to seem to find my doll

OMG. Just that fast I found my black chunky original crissy doll. The video was a box opening and omg I simply could not wait to see if her doll was what I remembered and WHAT a find! The doll was kept in its original packaging untouched. I'm gonna look for my own.

This brought back so many wonderful memories!! I really wish that I had kept my Crissy dolls.I also had a Barbie's beauty center.Remember that one? it was a big Barbie head that had a built in tray around the neck to hold the hair rollers,make-up,ect.that went with it.I didnt keep it either.Really wish I had kept all my dolls.Thanks for sharing.You are so lucky to have such a beautiful collection of memories.

Kerry is supposed to have green eyes and Velvets' original eye color is a light purple. Mia had blue eyes. Sometimes the eyes will fade to diffrent colors over the years.

I love you collection I think is awesome!!! Maybe you can help me to remember the name of a doll. She had the same mechanism of growing hair. She was blond, she had a lilac long dress. And I bought in 1982. But my mom threw away 6 months after I bought when I was 7 years old. (She always had depression issues😔). And I searched a lot and finally found the right mechanism, when I described to sellers or friends, they did't remember her or any doll who does that. Thank you so much. 😍🤗

Some Crisseys have soft heads and arms and some have hard heads. Which is most desirable? What years were they made?

Unfortunately, Kewpie didn't re-root a baby crissy, only a regular Crissy and that one she didn't replace the ponytail because the hair place we order the hair didn't have the longer strands. Plus we couldn't figure out the instructions. Kewpie does the re-rooting with the tool, it's easy for her, not always for me.

I got A bending waist Chrissy and a normal Velvet at a thrift shop for three dollars! Someone who owned them before cut the HAIR around the growing hair spot and fogged Velvets eyes. I don't know how to fix them....Help.

The book came with the doll or you bought it separately? And what do you recommend in books for a beginner in collecting barbies or dolls in general, what I love the most is vintage dolls . But I do like the new barbie except the monster high I really don't like those.

Hi Raymond! She could very well be the 1973 Swirla-Curler Crissy, who had curly foundation hair to match the curls you would create with the included curling wand. She also had less make up on her face, looking younger than the other Crissy dolls. Swirla-Curler is the one I have - a hand me down from my Mum!

Unfortunately, I only have the reproduction Sindy doll that Tonner made, it was a gift. I remember a two set of a newer one a bunch of years ago with Sindy playing Twister that I thought was cute; just b/c it was pop culture. Only saw it once, never again. And that Sindy definitely looked like a Barbie. I will have to see if I can find an older one to have in my collection.
