You mentioned it without mentioning it.... The Lexus ES300 is based on the 3rd gen Camry that is internally considered at Toyota to be the grand slam. It established Toyota as the #1 Selling car and company in the US. In fact the ES300 and Camry of the early to mid 90s are the most often seen cars on the road today of that era of any make or model. How about that for building a case? They don't die and are built to standards surpassing even today's automobiles

An honourable mention is of course, any 1990s-2000s Volkswagen that is powered by the 1.9TDI ALH engine. Just as reliable as any Toyota, those engines are virtually unkillable. Here in the UK, they are still extremely common, most of them above 200k miles! If they aren't all sold or scrapped like any other old car, that says a lot about its reliability. Also the newer 2.0TDI engines are pretty solid as well. Also, what about all the chevy trucks powered by the 5.3 LS??? If that is not reliable, or bulletproof, idk what is. Also the Miata and the Jeep 4.0 XJs. This may be controversial, but I'm going to put a BMW E36 in this list. Yes the cars are reliable to many standards, but there are also a lot of issues if neglected. The cooling systems are the worst, completely made out of plastic, they are also prone to rusting as well, they also have electrical issues. The gearboxes are just fine tho. What I'm talking about that is 'reliable' are the engines. No the engines themselves (M50/M52) are not just 'reliable', they are literally indestructible, just like the Jeep 4.0! Those engines can hold up to 450-500whp and still be bulletproof! though its best to change the internals at around 600whp. One M52B28 that eventually blew up, that was for drift use was constantly abused, redlined for hours straight all the time, hardly ever received oil changes for 12 years! 6 of those years, being turbocharged with over 400whp (550 crank), 3x its factory output! U could also include a 1.25 Ford Zetec (Yamaha re-engineered) in the list as well, and any Ford Duratorq engine.

W124 200D has been the best car I've owned. 5L/100km, 4 speed manual and RWD. Sure, it was slow but where I live we get snow during winter and it had room for road trips in the summer. A warm winter car and a cool summer cruiser with a sun roof. Loved it.

Great video! Totally agree with that list. Sorry for Toyota haters, this video was not for you 😅 Forgot one in that list: The Toyota Sienna 2004-2006, with the 3.3L v6 engine (only had one option - this engine and that's it). I own one, 300k without any issue. One of my employees had one, 465k before he change it to a Highlander 3 years ago, and that Sienna still running as of today. I was surrounded by people having Siennas made between 2004-2006, and none of them went out to junk under 300-400k, not even close. Absolutely no issues ever. It's a boring vehicule, but it will last forever. I bought it new in march 2005, almost 18 years now, still running strong. I purchased a minivan, I received a tank.

The 3MZ 3.3 still needs to be maintained exceptionally well. My parents had a Kluger (Australian version) just shy of 250,000kms. It was maintained as required but still threw check engine lights (cam position sensor?) and even randomly shut off completely when driving. Solid, however much prefer the 2GR 3.5 engine. They are powerful and bullet proof.

The Nissan Frontier V6 from model years 2001-2004 is the longest lasting, most reliable vehicle that was overlooked in this video. That particular model is commonly referred to as “The Tank” as it never dies. Minimal maintenance and repairs over time, and you’ve got a half million mile machine that acts like new. With that said, Nissan has never been able to capture that magic ever since, and their vehicles are not known for this level of reliability.

Toyota RAV4 6cyl uses the same power train as the Highlander, but being lighter puts less load on it. I've only got 180K on my 2010, but fluid changes are all I do to it and it runs flawlessly. I'd consider a hybrid RAV4 to add to the stable though.

My 6.4L is a 1st Run 2008 that has gone under the knife for the known reasons. And that being said has been stupidly reliable, fast, powerful, and economical. Empty at Highway speeds gets 22mpg. After the IMHO mandatory weight loss surgery and tuning, the EGTs have dropped to only 600 degrees. Coolant Temps stay so low that in Temps below 40 outside require blocking flow to the radiator in the winter to get Temps high enough for heat in the cab. The thing with all diesels is Maintenance, Maintenance, Maintenance. All modern diesel trucks have the issues of the oil cooler failures. The 2008-2011 Fseries have the Strongest Transmissions. As long as people keep the 6.4 trucks on stock injectors, maintain the fuel and oil systems, and keep their feet on the go pedal to minimum, they will run way over 500k miles, efficiently. My EGR system failed at 104k miles causing me to ultimately saving myself thousands and getting the surgery and proper tuning done. A properly manufatured and tuned diesel engine shouldn't need a catalyst, EGR, DPF, or DEF system. With the compression ratios in diesel engines and more so in turbo diesels, complete combustion is definitely achievable. They should and do often burn everything that enters the combustion chamber. Only in America do we rely too much on gasoline. Most cars in the world today are diesel. I know the 6.0 and 6.4 Super Dutys get bad rapps it's definitely not Ford's Fault. Blame the alphabet Agentcies and Lobbyist from the Oil Companies. Follow the money trail. My .02.

Pretty solid, but the GX is a 4-Runner Chasis, not a Sequoia. The GX and 4-runner, as well as the LX and Landcruiser are examples othe same vehicles with different options. The Sequoia does not have a Lexus counterpart, but does derive many of its parts and platform from the Tundra. The MOST reliable Toyota product are the LX/Landcruiser models which are the most likely SUV’s on the planet to pass 200K. I think you really undersold the Benz there. They are still prolific and running in all trims worldwide. The older w123 platforms just will not die!

Not so sure about the Beetle being on this list, but that's just my opinion. That said, for nearly 10 years I owned a 1999 Saturn SL1 with the weak SOHC engine making less than 100hp that lasted me over 190,000 before I sold it. Besides normal wear/tear items I think the only major repairs I had was a valve gasket replaced at one point and then right before I sold it the radiator cracked so I had that replaced. The darn thing couldn't get out of it's own way but it ran like a champ.

If Volvo can build a 2 million mile car, then so can everyone else. The most miles I’ve ever gotten out from any vehicle was my bare bones 1978 Toyota Corolla. It was a 4cyl, 4spd stick, vinyl seas and vinyl floors. It finally dropped dead in 02 at 488K miles. Other than regular maintenance all I had to replace was the radiator and water pump. It was my college car and then I had student loans to pay off. Then I was saving money for a down payment for my first house. After that, I just wanted to see how long it would last. I promptly bought a 02 Camry and drove it until 11 when I bought a new Rav Limited with the 3.5 V6.

Those damn Prius really do last forever. My mother in law has one with 350k. I finally convinced her to quit driving it after I bought her a VW Tiguan TSI.

No offense my brother but why did you make her quit a reliable vehicle for an unreliable one? I used to own a tiguan myself, I owned it for 2 years. It was unreliable after 6 months and I couldn't sell it because no one wanted it

@@bongboyz6468 my wife has owned two Tiguans a Jetta and a Passat with absolutely zero issues. Proper maintenance makes them easy. I just bought at 22 Atlas with 7k miles for my wife too. We just sell them when they're out of warranty. That 2.0 TSI engine is easy to work on anyways.

Inhave to disagree on the Superduty part. The 6.7 Powerstroke isnt any more reliable than the 6.0. My 3 6.0s i have owned (still have 2) have actually lasted longer with fewer problems than any 3 of my 6.7s. My 2011 had a catastrophic injection pump failernat 28K miles that took out the entire fuel system, then at 73K the trans went , at 91K the turbo went. Then my 2012 had the same injection pump issue, 2 def heaters , 3 NOX sensors, 4 DEF pumps, 1 DPF due tonprecious mention failures , and 1 oil cooler all before 100K, the 2019 was pretty much the previous 2 trucks issues all in 1 truck. Myb6.0s on the other hand all went well over 100K before needing an oil cooler, or head gskets. The 2 I have currently both have over 200K on them with both still on original head gaskets. Now I nwill admit I have gauges on all critical areas of my 6.0s to monitor temps and pressures , but i have had the same on my 6.7s too.
