I have another Question = The side trim molding . Do I want to remove it or leave it. My truck is two tone , teal green on bottom 16.5 inches then silver for 17 inches then teal green on top 4 inches then green on hood and roof. Can the old molding be re glued or is it destroyed when removed. When it comes to the cab corner , it looks like the molding is right about wear you might want to make the but weld the panel is flattest their, The middle of the molding is about 12 inches up from the bottom edge. . the molding is 2.5 wide and 11 inches up from the bottom edge. The new panel is 21 inches tall. I am sure glad I saw the video on heating the box bolts before removing because of the Loctite. I think they all would have twisted off if I didn't heat them. I have a three point hitch plate in the box and receiver hitch and spare tire that all had to come off too. I think I will take the bumper off also just so I don't run into it on the re install. I see that it has a rusted through the crome spot wear the dirt and moisture was sitting, Are the new bumpers expensive.

Best to remove the mouldings, just clean up and retape with double sided tape

Great video, hey so i live in the rust valley region and am rebuilding my dads old 81 Jeep J20. I have to do the B pillar on the drivers side as well as cab corners and rockers. I have managed to gather the parts from the states, i already did the floor. What is the best way to do the partial b pillar and repair the back of the cab. I am at the point not that i can do that after replacing the clutch while the cab was off.

Really tough to say without seeing the truck, I don’t think I’ve worked on one for 25-30 years 😉

Im in south western Pa and two or three weeks ago we had the smoke in our area from those fires and it we had very bad air quality from it, looks like you guys are like us need rain and a great deal of it but over several day not in a half hour or so ! How many different guns do you use when painting and putting clear on, i have a host of different paint guns and depending on how i fill that day makes for what gun i use ! Now i do jave guns that i prefer to use ?

I just have a basic arrangement, base gun, clear gun, one for single stage. I’ve always liked Devilbiss guns

I put some of that por 15 on yesterday ,and for clean up ,I tried varsol paint thinner , and mineral spirets, but didn't work, what do you use to clean up brushes. And what do you use to apply POR on the frame after you remove the box, undercoating gun.

I use gun wash, and dollar paint brushes that can be thrown away, and spray with either an old primer gun with the fan turned right in, or an under coat gun

How long would that patch last if you just filled it all in with fiberglass filler.

Until it rains 😉

@@jeffglasman19yes, but it doesn’t last long filling rust, moisture quickly gets around it and it will come back very quickly
