As you probably know all too well, it's so much more insightful watching YOU make mistakes while problem solving than just showing us an easy fix every time. I actually learned a lot in this one, thanks Louis. Keep doing what you're doing man, and thanks for sharing the knowledge.

Great video, excellent games that you highlighted. I have one major issue though, your outlook on modern games is heavily instructed by triple-a drivel and so of course you would think that games are getting worse, because triple-a games are getting worse. I am not familiar with your indie gaming experience, but trust me, the future of games is in indies.

I put new thermal paste on the CPU and GPU hoping that would help but it still just kept going black after maybe an hour to an hour and a 1/2 of use. Always wondered why here in the UK we call it soldering yet in the USA it's said sodering.
@john_titor1
@john_titor1 5 жыл бұрын
I believe it's because sometime in the past, the brits decided to sound more french by pronouncing the l's. Meanwhile, the Americans brought over the older pronunciation including the silent l, and just kept it that way.

@@john_titor1 why do Americans say parsta for pasta, lartay for latte, urb for herb, and filay for fillet (steak) then?
@john_titor1
@john_titor1 5 жыл бұрын
@@2lefThumbs Americans do not pronounce pasta as parsta. We usually say pah-sta just like how not all UK pronounce pasta as pass-ta (with an ash vowel). Most americans pronounce pasta as pa.sta. Same as with pasta, so is it with latte. I think you are talking about some sort of southern dialect, which is definitely not the norm for most americans, but again, they don't pronounce it as parsta, but more like paw-sta, which to many non-rhotic speakers can sound like an r, i think a lot of that has to do with brits inferring open a's as ending in r's, like the famous example of obamar. Obama was. Obamar is. As for herb, americans again seem to stick with the older pronunciation, while brits decided to modern frenchify theirs. Herb comes from middle english erbe, which comes from old french erbe, both lacking the h. Of course, both of these are thought to come from a proto-indo-euro word starting with aspiration, which would make sense to how it evolved into an h. Finally, fillet also comes from french, but for some reason, Brits decided to defy french pronunciation and anglicize it, whereas americans kept it french. I do not know why this is the case, but is evidenced in other words such as valet as well. In many of these cases, it is as simple as a single sound with two different pronunciation features that are eventually carried down into two separate languages, each language keeping only a single feature. As most often is the case, the daughter languages do not have the exact phonology of the parent, and thus often drop certain features, such as aspiration.
@john_titor1
@john_titor1 5 жыл бұрын
@@davesmith7671 Aluminum aluminium is actually quite interesting of a case. In any sense, it essentially boils down to this: the discoverer initially named it alumium, then aluminum. Finally, many of his british cohorts objected to his name, and decided upon aluminium sometime thereafter. This is another case where americans kept the older pronunciation. In this case, it's obvious there is no "right" pronunciation, as the name is completely derived, and there is a basis for elements ending in both -um and -ium.

pc repair has a seemly infinite amount of possible part replacement spanning all budgets. cnc machine repair isn't a thing (kinda apple-like) because it's more profitable to sell the whole thing over and over again citing "update" and "upgrade" in the invoice to sweeten the deal..

@Louis Rossmann What is the advantage of using leaded solder over unleaded solder? And does this weigh up to the environmental impact when this can have when this computer eventually gets thrown away? This question coming from someone who genuinely doesn't know the soldering advantages and knows nothing about the environmental impact of lead in trash apart from general concerns about lead.
@johnuferbach9166
@johnuferbach9166 5 жыл бұрын
i doubt the tiny amount he is putting in would change much on the environmental side (back in the day they had water oipes made from lead and still got like 50years old^^) i don't really know why, but generally leaded solder is considered easier to work with... on hobbyist sites they all recommend leaded solder^^

Seems these macbooks have an abnormally high amount of power/charger issues... perhaps this is how apple sells new machines?

Day by day I see more videos of MacBook chips failing in post 2012 MacBooks. Why is that, definitely these microchip faults are not diagnosable by a person who has no knowledge or background on electronics or resources to identify the problems. However, these microchip issues are rarely at fault over pc based laptops. So can I say that Pc based manufacturers place more reliable chips and motherboard designs compared to Apple? Or is it Apple eventhough they innovate new technology the aren’t able to stump out defective chip designs or the way they are housed on the board? It is very strange why chips starts to fail in a two year or even a one year old MacBooks while Pc based laptops continue to work for at least more than 5 years. Also to make it worse I’m hearing discussions that Apple has decrypted some chips in a way that any removal or modification of them will lead to complete malfunction of the board. So what is really happening? If they made reliable chips or housing of them in the board people will not be running around asking for repairs. I just don’t get it why laptops don’t have these kinds of issues but Apple has? I see tons of issues on Apple forums about graphic card, retina monitor and so on.. why people still buy Apple when they can see infront of their eyes evidences of rampant failures of Apple devices? While I know they are people with Apple devices that never had issues, I am talking for people who have issues with Apple products.
Macbook Air, no green light: chip randomly died.
