I really enjoy playing thief but I was never sure how to use the flashlight effectively so I always felt like it was wasted. I really appreciate this guide since now I feel like I can actually play Thief much better now, and also counter a lot of the hunters that made me want to die inside (namely BQ thanks to your other video, but Geisha and Soul Weaver are also really annoying for me to deal with). Really great tips!

Thief is always been strong but most players I've encountered or see on some fb page of idv I don't usually see thief on getting noticed like most of them focus on like prospector or someone cute like ship here ship them it's really cringe but there's the point they don't like thief cause it's really hard for most of them to master the map with moonwalk

Gamekeeper hitbox is sooooo broken, even when you avoid it his hook still hit you

The auto-calibration on Gamekeeper's hook is wild, if he one-taps you you could move sideways during the delay (like REALLY sideways otherwise he will still hit you). If there's a rocket chair nearby you could also go near it, sometimes as a Gamekeeper I get this thing where my hook latches on the chair instead of the survivor (this may or may not have been fixed in recent updates, idk tho). Make sure to tight kite him and only transition if you know he's out of hooks.

Joseph mains!!, if the flashlight hasn't taken away your skills yet, use Timeskip/footsteps as you chase. You can still put yourself at an angle while walking a certain direction to counter Thief! So basically its like using teleport to 360 but you can choose an angle.

Good video but there's one "little" problem. Thief isn't that hard to counter,most of NA server players just doesn't know how to do it and those who know this way doesn't do it properly. I mean there's no need to backwards or 360 with tp, umbrella, tentacle,etc. You can just 90-120° so you can still see thief and unable to be affected by the flashlight

Ev1l Ent1ty there’s ways around it, think about this,if they look back they can’t use their abilities hence I would open kite to areas near pallets and transition like that
