guards need to step up but truthfully they are on duty and shouldn't have to put up with idiots at all. keep the tourist far away from guards and horses, have guards stand post beside the horse. So people if you are enraged as I am as to how the horses and guards are treated by tourists do what I did and email the Household Cavalry, MOD, London District and digital news to voice your concerns to protect the horses and guards from disrespectful, ignorant tourists. This is not an amusement park, petting zoo. Real change won't happen if people don't take action.

There is no option on the sign that says to touch the horse if the guard says it is okay. It says do not touch the horse. The guard is not there to chit chat with the tourists.

I saw a few other videographers at this same time that recorded this guard telling people "It's OK you can pet the horse"....when someone from the crowd told them "do not touch the horse" he looked at them and said "It's OK if they want to touch the horse"...so, this guard needs disciplined and removed from duty until HE can comply with the rules. After he told them they could touch the horse, the obvious happened and everyone was all over the horse again. He really was a jerk.

I watched other videographers at this guard station and this guard was totally asleep on the job...let everyone do what ever they wanted...when people in the crowd told people to not touch the horse, HE said "It's alright, they can touch the horse"...no joke...of course, the obvious followed with everyone handling the horse, crowding up on it and the guard sat there like a stone and let them. It was disgusting. I hope videos of his behavior get to his superiors and he deserves to be disciplined. He absolutely was hideous. You cannot have inconsistent rules....one guard maintaining the rules and the other letting everyone behave like animals.

Doesn't anyone notice that the horse, even when not touched, is rubbing the whole length of his head affectionately against people. Beautiful, sweet horse. But yeah it might be bothersome and tiresome to the horse with everyone petting him. It's different if the horse chooses to show affection. I am very annoyed that the soldier is just letting these idiots get away with this. He needs to be dismissed from this duty.

I’m sorry how can a father put his child up to a 1500lb animal and place the baby btwn him and the horse. This was so unwise! Horses are unpredictable, just like babies.
