Slowing down would be a good idea

+Bike Riding Ads what would be an appropriate speed then? 15? 10? 5? Whatever speed you do someone always thinks it's too fast. If you think 20 is too fast then you can ride slower.

@@bigblokeonabike My comment isn't about how fast you can go it's about that fact that the person has already started to cross the road so technically has right of way, I don't think you made enough of an effort to slow down and allow them to cross. Just my opinion.

+Bike Riding Ads well he gave me very little chance to react. You can see that I reach for the brakes and I stop pedalling. When he runs across the road towards you it doesn't leave you much of a chance.

@@bigblokeonabike I understand but check out rule 170, that person has already started to cross so if there was an accident you could potentially be accused of going too fast as you couldn't stop in time. Just looking at it from another POV not trying to piss you off.

Bike Riding Ads you could use that argument for any accident then. If someone runs out in front of you..yes you should try and stop but if you tried and failed and were cycling or driving within the law then you will not be held at fault. If you were exceeding the speed limit then that would be different.
