Thanks for the video! As a video enthusiast I have to mention that you should try wiping your camera next time, it was quite dirty in this one. At 0:05 the vertical light lines around the bright areas (the windows in this case) are because of that.

One thing I found disturbing with this new system is when I drive with map on, if I want to change AC I will then be presented with a whole window of temp settings and loose my map. Super annoying during city driving when you’re navigating but wants to change ac. Plus it’s all touch screen so you have you get your eyes off the road multiple times

This is what the map in instrument cluster is there to remedy, as well as HUD when equipped… but you can change the temperature without getting out of the map view on the control display by just tapping temp up or down or by using your voice “hey bmw set temperature to X “

do you know if its possible to code out the welcome screen and goodbye screen, i heard there were 2 other options?

You can code the click ok screen to bypass all together, i haven’t seen anything to nix the goodbye screen as of yet. But I’m sure someone somewhere has found a way to. I personally love the goodbye screen for my preconditioning and departure schedules so i know if I’m set for tomorrow or if i need to deactivate it because of a holiday.

@@BMWofFW 2 of us use the car so its not cool if the other is using the car and has friends to see the other being welcomed...lol i coded out the "press ok" screen no prob. maybe i should make a new bmw id named "&" 😂

this is awful. One big terrible screen. All day long, I am looking at screens, my phone, my home computer, my work computer, etc...etc.. and now to have to deal with this screen in a car. Please, BMW you should have just kept a lot of the buttons. :-(

These instructions are specific to the car you happen to be 4:48 in, and not to iDrive 8. Most don’t work on my 2023 i4 M 50.

True i4 and 3 series cars are running iDrive8 with Service Pack 18, not 21 like the iX, x1, x7 and upcoming x5/6

Shortcuts! Only 4 on the top. But can you change the"suggestions" below? Idrive 7 had at least 7 shortcuts .

once you add 4 shortcuts it grows to 8. why take up realestate that you don't need if you only want say 3 shortcuts instead of 6 or 8
