Drive 2.5 hours to bpw. Absolutely peeing it down. Coffee and bacon roll then drive straight home again. I tend to go for quite a few long drives with my bike.

Hahahaha i also had crank issues at Coed y Brenin, built up the full sus, forgot to check the bolts after a few rides - stripped it out on the warm up lap at the skills centre. Popped down to a bike shop in Dolgellau and managed to save some splines, just enough for an hour ride before it went again. Such is life.

That's life Jim, I was cutting trees down in that wood for years and one day we were falling some awkward trees next to the small train line and the last one went back on the saw, so we were stuck with it up in air just hanging on the hinge, bloody train had to come chuffing by at that exact moment 😱 so we just closed out eyes and prayed it didn't fall over the track as the train went past. It didn't and all turned out OK 😂👍

Went to go for a ride on the road bike this morning. Forgot my shirt had to wear a T-shirt and then carry a back pack (no pockets) 🙄 halfway through the crank started “clunking”. Was 38degrees Celsius today here in west Aus 😂 should have stayed home in the aircon!!

Nice to know it happens to all of us. I've been loving your vlogs Jim. Local mon here, I ride with the Wednesday Wheelers and a few other local monners regularly. It's been nice to relax in an evening watching other locals doing the trails I know and love. One I've not seen you do is Wrekin. Definitely worth a video I'd say. I had a similar failed ride at CYB. We were going to stay near Harlech for 4 days in May to ride all the trails in the area and on the way down decided we would do a quick loop of CYB. Only did the 8K loop, can't remember what it's called, but drops down to the trail centre via the beginning of the end. I came off on the last section of the beginning of the end and ruined my shoulder. Biking weekend ended, spent the next day at Bangor A&E and couldn't do much else with the remaining days. Didn't break anything but took about 4 weeks before I could ride again and about 6 months for my shoulder to feel totally normal again.

Was riding big log at eastridge in the wet flying through over the drip down and into the twisty tight section that always catches people out and slid the bike down and caught my derailleur and hangar on a root and that was the end of them and my ride

Did a 10 day tour back in June of the west coast of Scotland First ride up Ben Lomond and our guide broke his ankle on the first decent after a 3hr hike a bike Such was his shame at being in the situation and being a mountain rescue volunteer he hobbled all the way down .

Biggest fail for me has to be my first snow ride. Planned to get a ride in the snow a few years back. Got to the trail, went to the local shop to buy myself some new knee pads. Got back to the car got all kitted up and getting excited to be out to realise I'd left my maxel at home 😔

Drove to Llandegla on new years eve a few years back with my lad and his mate. There was snow on the climb all the way up. By the time we got to the top my lad had snapped his chain and had 3 punctures. When he punctured again at the top i had just about had enough. I gave him my bike and sent him off with his mate while i pushed his bike back down to the car. I ended up in the cafe waiting for them. The things we do for our kids ay.

How about this for a fail. 2.5hrs drive with the bike in the car, wheels off and chained up to the bike and car for security as packed the night before, get to trail centre and then discovered the padlock keys had been left in the kitchen back home!!!!

I was going up to the lakes for a wk/end with a few mates I was going to go with my mate in his van so there we was Friday morning outside his home took the front wheel out to fit it in his t5 & of we went to Grizedale 3&1/2 later we are on Grizedale car park put me front wheel in got my kit on & of we went I managed all of 3yards when I could see my front wheel wobbling 🤔 so stopped had alook & 5min later realised the hub spacey was missing 😂 searched back of van & carpark nothing went to bike shops they don't ave them 😂 so I had the choice do I spend the wk/end in the pub or come home 🤔 I came home £90 on train 😡 £4.50 on bus & got back home around 11pm got up in the morning went over to my mates house & in front on his drive there was the spacer 😂😡😂 wasn't a happy bunny. Anyway u should of jumped on sonnys bike Neal could of run around with the water (fit sod he is 😜) anyway it all gives u a laugh 👍👍👍
