Talking about Vlahnya's stacks reminds me how much I struggled to get them maxed out for her unique character feat. I also thought of something that might be fun to do after all these if you're interested. Ranking each affiliation based on slotting every champion in that affiliation as a requirement. Like how good can Black Dice Society actually be, vs Oxventure Guild, vs Companions Of The Hall, etc...

Walnut used to be one of my main tanks, way back when I didn't have some other options available. This video just confirms for me how bad Documancer actually is when you take a look at it as a more veteran player. Good thing we have Tatyana in slot 8 these days to help with that

I remember when Walnut first came out, I was like "Cool a tank in this Seat," then realized how bad Documancer was. Then thinking, "At least her ult shreds armor," then they nerfed that hard. I wish they would let her carry over something into a new area from Documancer, even just 1 stack, but alas. But yes, Tatyana is a rock-solid option!

Yet another great video, glad Hew Maan's synergy with Brimstone Angels came up. Also, I have loved pairing Nrakk with the Heroes of the Planes, Ulkoria, & Gromma (with the Acid Arrow specialization.) Nrakk wasn't even on my radar until a few videos of this series convinced me to open a time gate for him. I was a bit surprised that Tatyana's synergy with Valentine, going as far as having a specialization involving Tatyana, wasn't mentioned.

Thanks, I appreciate it! If it's anything as important/unique as Orkira's Elemental Fire boosting I try to squeeze it into these videos, but I get what you're saying. Split the Party is particularly difficult to cover as a baseline just because everyone will have a different roster to work with. We'll see what the future brings though!

@@tyredack I'm glad about those videos i'm playing for more than a year and learnig a lot of stuff! I often play as 'idle' game lauching it and barely optimisating it... But for now with trhee formations and since less than a month tiamat challenge active so, questionning wich champion I will give legendaries. i'm reacting on this specific comment because you never at all mentioned split the party and the fact that you'll have two, three or even more parties at the same time running and trying to make the best of them all. I think it's a really important mechanic, as you can do easy patron variant with C tier champions whilst pushing a wall and having (quite alaways as the game is) a formation working on a challenge without any favour (and I think champs are good for run without favors, oftenly core champ with jarlaxle), so those trhee ways of playing the game are quite often up at the same time and you need to come up with three effective formations for jobs that are quite not the same.

I totally agree with Corazón's placement. Paraphrasing Psylisa - she said when he came out that he just seemed to be missing an e3 buff just to be considered average. He did get an e1 buff to his GOAT Pirate ability recently - but it's still not enough. He's just really undertuned - a discount Hitch basically - and it sucks because his design is pretty great. The whole neutral thing can be really handy.

It always felt a bit off to me. I swear they scaled Pirates Code based on how many active Grease puddles there were and then they removed it without an alternative or something. Being able to scale how many puddles he has with Neutral Champions just seemed like it should lead to something more. Hopefully once your whole Affiliation is able to be together something will be able to tie them *all* together, you know?

@@tyredack I certainly hope so. Though Dob from the spotlight is a copy-paste Paultin with a bit of flair from Offshore Accounting added. He's got very little synergy with the rest of the team too - only getting bonuses for other members from his specialisation choices. And his ult (copy-paste from Gromma) buffs Evil champions by e3% while it's active (so not even permanent). And - SPOILERS: From the spoilers we have of Egbert - doesn't look like there's much synergy there either. In fact Egbert seems to have an ability based on the number of Lawful champions - of which NONE of the Oxventurers belong except himself (and he doesn't include himself in that ability) - and it's not even something Corazón can help with due to being the wrong alignment axis. It's complete bizarre.

I really like Planeshift, cause I hate fiddle around to isolate normal enemy, so I Azaka farm bosses (which got slightly better due to the Tier 3 Global Corellon blessing, and there it's really sweet.

I was going to post the same thing. I'm done screwing around with the isolate an enemy and turn it into a chest nonsense. Vlahnya's ult takes no preparation, even if it maybe doesn't produce the ideal result.

I think you could mention how well Tatyana synergizes with Valentine, which can be placed on her friend spot no matter where It is and then gave it to DPS anyway no matter where he/she is.

Something similar was brought up earlier with Trophy Gatherer's comment. To me that's just more about Valentine's kit, not specifically a Tatyana synergy. But they do synergize with Valentine's Specialization choices, which I probably should have at least covered.

You said it yourself, Hewman is S tier material. By far the best and most important component of the speed formation is S tier right there, even if his buffs kinda suck unless you have a very specialized formation that can actually scale up Hello Fellow Humans and even than it's not godlike or anything. With that said, since most players will invest heavily in his items to get his speed buff as high as possible he will also be a pretty solid buffer when his item level is significantly higher than most of your other champions by default, so yeah...

Oh no there seems to be some confusion, I said A. Someone else hijacked my video and said that S nonsense. Was that you? On the real, if this was a Speed Tier List 100% Hew would be S, but it isn't. Even with heavy investment the buffing potential is insanely average, and not only that but you straight up lose the speed mechanic swapping Hew to buffing. I wholly understand people seeing Hew as S, hence the joke, but looking at the game as a whole I simply disagree.

@@tyredack I guess it depends on what the actual criteria for S tier is. To me a champion that's basically mandatory(or well, best in slot by far) at a pretty major aspect of the game has to be S tier for that alone. I mean speed is not some minor aspect that only a few people use, it's a core aspect that everyone uses. Whether it's automated gem farming or using your speed formation to push up to your soft wall than slowly rotate them out for your actual DPS formation, everyone uses speed champions. To me that's enough to make him S tier, apparently for you it isn't, which is fine. As for the buffing potential, I wholeheartedly agree that it's average. However item level plays a huge role here so when you compare an item level ~3k Hewman, which many players will have to get the venerable 1 kill per level, to any other support champion with item level 200-300 than suddenly Hewman's support ability becomes powerful, with over 10 times the item level. Again, while seemingly niche on paper, is actually a scenario many players face as dumping all blacksmith scrolls into Hewman and Briv has been a staple of this game for a very long time so this is the reality many players find themselves in until they eventually bridge that gap and get all their other main support champions to similar item levels as there's no real reason to push Hewman above the 1 kill per level threshold. Certainly a transition state, no argument there, but a pretty common one, which is why I made that comment. I do agree that leveling Hewman for his support ability or using him as such is mediocre to say the least, it's just that since you're already doing it for the speed it suddenly becomes an option as a support too. Especially if you use your speed formation not for gem farming but to push towards your wall, at which case once you reach your soft wall with the speed formation you can eventually switch Hewman's slot from speed to damage and see if you can push even further, if not you simply rotate him out, but often times you will get some use out of him in that role as well due to the massive item level discrepancy.

I still think Hew Maan's better than Briv, though I did dump a bunch of my Asharra dismantle contracts into Briv since your seat 5 video and have been using him whenever I want to skip to my wall. Building stacks is slightly annoying but not too bad. It's good that you will be doing champion videos as they are released. The two Reddit guide makers quit the game within a couple months of each other. I'm almost done making my champs full epic, so I don't really need to know who to focus on for an event, which is really helpful for newer players, but I do appreciate the insight to see where I can slot them into my play overall and sometimes it helps figure out an annoying achievement.

I place Briv higher than Hew Maan because with Briv you just plant him in the front and he's good to go. All his roles are served smoothy and effectively, persistent. Hew Maan only serves their speed until your wall, where you then have to either change their position and lose the speed for average buffing, or just remove them. I think for the game as a whole, Briv is a better Champion. That's one reason I think a stream could be interesting (not that I'm planning to) to actively talk about formations and ideas for variants actively based on what everyone has available to them.

Walnut is semiuseable for normalish progression if you can spam sth based on bud dmg. i tried using an ult when at a wall, but it just becomes a hassle too fast. There are some bud dmg attacks though, with yorven and stoki probably being the convenient ones to use. maybe there is a spammable enough ult too, that you can just set a familiar on.

No doubt, there could be some use found to utilize her. You also have Merilwen's Specialization for BUD damage, and Havilar's ult can be a very low cooldown for AoE BUD splash. I still believe offering *nothing* to your formation at your wall for a formation ability damage buff is a bad design.

@@tyredack Merilwen takes too long to come active. From a sheer dmg perspective the Bud attack has to occur within 15 seconds of entering a stage. From a speed perspective near instantly. i wasnt sure how the contant dmg from Havilars ult scales, but its true that with the right specialization you can spam a bud attack with a familiar for sure every 10 seconds, which passes the bud test.

He's not *bad* and I always say use who you like. His slow and ultimate are certainly useful tools, it's just a pity his buffing potential isn't a little more potent.

Hey mate, would you recommend trying to get all epic gears for Lazaapz, Corazon or Dob in the current event? I prefer Dob but Lazaapz is retiring so I can't really decide (limited Bounty Contracts).

With the restriction of low event tokens my vote would probably be for the newcomer Dob. Unless Zorbu is your main DPS (as he shares that Seat), then my vote would be for Lazaapz. Corazon has his unique niche, but probably should *not* be a focus unless you for some reason really like him. With Dob having a gold finder in Seat 12 does kind of suck since he can't be used with an Azaka farm (as Azaka shares that Seat) but his buffing isn't pretty good and will help you push your wall over the others more than likely, especially if you use Asharra as he gives you another Half n' Half option for her bonds (if you don't have Penelope to already fit that role). Lazaapz is one of the few tanks viable for Strahd, so she has that going for her. But the fact she only buffs short races holds her back quite a bit. Only really useful for Zorbu DPS.

I have one off-topic question - how do you reach such absurd (at least what it seems for a newer player) percentages on items like your Hew Maan slot 4? Is there a blacksmith contract farm later on in the game or how is that possible? I couldn't find any information regarding this topic anywhere.

I appreciate it! Really that just comes down to how fast you can get gems to buy chest to get contracts and use them up. Hew's is specifically so high because Hew Maan and Briv we're my first big focuses for contracts because of their scaling speed mechanics, which is a common pick for a lot of players. Investing in them = way faster gem farming = even more chests. If you're interested in gem farming techniques, I briefly cover it in my Overview of the game, and there is plenty of info on the discord and reddit, and I might do a video in the future. Really it just comes down to how fast you can grind areas in your downtime, which is where a lot of people use scripting. Investing in Hew and Briv will very much speed up that process, but it takes a lot of time and patience to get to good farming levels. (And for the record, while I have fairly high numbers compared to a lot of people, there are many people with WAY higher numbers out there lol)

Wonder if you'll notice this comment 🙈 I remember back then I was quite opposed to the idea of gem farming thinking it would be such a hassle. One month ago, I gave scripting a chance. Today, I've got a perfect 4J Briv and maxed Hew, sitting at 2250 BPH. The need for speed consumed me haha. I think that a video with gem farming instructions would be a blast, so that new players can look towards it with excitement and not with a sense of overwhelment and tediousness. Honestly, if not for the digging on the Discord, I wouldn't bother with gem farming after a while - I've made so many mistakes that slowed me down either because I had not enough information, or the information on Reddit was outdated. I think it's your time to shine with some juice :) Cheers!

@@tyredack honestly, even if the video just had a set of instructions on how to get started straight from readme/faq, plus some knowledge from #scripting channel, I think that would still be immensely helpful. Setting up scripting is not as easy as one could think and it's not obvious what to really do with Briv when people tell you "just pump contracts into Briv and you'll swim in gems". In conclusion, I believe that a video covering the basics of basics would probably benefit people greatly. So if you'll run out of ideas for videos (although you probably have a lot of them), please remember about this one :D Still love your content after 3 months!

I really like characters with red and white color schemes, so when I started playing I was immediately drawn to Delina. Of course, as is the way of things, eventually I got better DPSes and there's little to no reason to use her wonky sine wave DPS when I can have a DPS that just consistently beats her, lmao. It's unfortunate too because I really would like to see her get better, but at this point I worry "Delina buffs lol" is too strong of a meme in the community for CNE to ever want to let go of it. That's the problem I find when your company making the game gets too in tune with the memes; sometimes it's funnier to keep a character bad just so your fanbase can keep making the same memes over and over. You know, I use Farideh DPS a lot with all the tieflings and Mehen, but I somehow never put together that you can use Hew Maan with them by changing them over to Tiefling. That seems like a really good idea for how flexible Hew Maan can be; keep them up front for speed until you get deeper to your wall and then shift them back for a nice damage boost. I imagine Hitch's "throw another knife" spec made more sense when he was tagged DPS, which you did bring up. I think there are some abilities that trigger whenever you hit an enemy that getting an extra hit can be valuable for, but yeah Hitch is really just a "boost my sorcerer and warlock DPS" bot and he doesn't need to be much more than that. I'm a big fan of Tatyana as a tank. Like you said, she has no damage mitigation, so you gotta put some resources into healing her, which can be a bother. My big problem is my favorite tanks are Briv and Tatyana, and they don't work great in a double tank formation because Tatyana wants to take damage and Briv taunts enemies to only attack him. Her speed feature is surely not great just to use her on a speed team (just use Hew Maan, they're in the same slot), but if I'm just using her as a tank, she can really help speed up a slow wave. Like, it's nice that she has a speed function for when I just wanna go a little faster but don't want to change to a whole speed team, you know? Plus she's a fun tank to use with Artemis because he can Observe her friend buff, so you get a lot of options as to which spec you want to use to maximize his damage. I feel extra bad for Walnut because not only is she not the best tank in her slot but they literally gave away Tatyana for free with a code a month or so ago. I don't know if it's still good, but if they just keep that code live so all new players can claim Tatyana, then Walnut is hopeless!

I'm going to take a wild stab in the dark and say you like White Mages. And yeah, poor Delina... they're last statement about balancing her was "No core Champion balance pass is complete without a futile effort to make Delina relevant." Hopefully it just means they know there is an issue, and they actually are working (or at least workshopping) on stuff with her in the background. With Hew Maan it certainly can help, but honestly at the end of the day just even swapping them with Hitch at that point will offer a better boost more than likely, but it's not just trash at least. It's true for Hitch that the extra throw could be useful for pairing him with for example Freely to get a bit more coverage for Lucky Breaks, but honestly at the end of the day anything like that is pretty minor. In some cases Briv + Tatyana can work in your favor, having only a few enemies hitting her to maintain Fury rather than ~half while Briv is healing her, but on boss areas it can be a hassle for sure. With Walnut I'd like to say she at least has a Patron over Tatyana or something, but they both only qualify for 1 and it's the same damn one lmao. And Tatyana even gets another with a Feat, so yeah... Anyway, always glad you've stopped by!

@@tyredack Oh yeah, I'm a big fan of the classic white mage design. When it comes to classes I choose to play, however, I'm a heavy armor knight guy, through and through. Oh yeah, Hitch. Never mind, I forgot Hitch existed. Yeah Hitch is better lmao I appreciate the effort in making Briv and Tatyana sound okay. Maybe that is a fine point. I also forgot to mention my favorite part of Tatyana; when her speed ability triggers right at the end of a wave, so Tatyana just runs off the right edge, and then before she comes back the wave finishes and the whole party chases off after her. It looks less like she's going to get more enemies and just decided "Okay, I'm bored now! Moving on!" and the whole party has to chase her down like "No, wait! Come back! We need you!" God it feels like they designed Tatyana on purpose to obsolete Walnut. That's agonizing. Tatyana is the Garchomp to Walnut's Flygon.

It's hard not to love a heavily armored class, it's true. That reminds me I was going to make each of Tatyana's transitions in the video have Tatyana actually running them back like she went ahead and grabbed them, it didn't pan out how I planned though. Would have been one of those dumb little things no one really noticed but I found funny. The concept of her doing that, then Briv jumping ahead, and the rest of the party going, "Uh... guess we go too?" cracks me up though. Those are some of the rare references I will not get. I know they're Pokemon... but that's all I know. It's that one franchise I just never got into.

@@tyredack Ahh, there's not too much to get. Flygon is a Ground/Dragon type from generation 3. Garchomp is a Pokemon released in the very next gen that has better stats, better moves, and arguably a better ability, as well as potentially, depending on your viewpoint, a cooler design (it's a landshark). For years I have been sour and bitter that Garchomp is in ALMOST every way "Flygon But Better" because I love Flygon and I think Garchomp is kinda mid.

If you're asking if Corazon's Honorary Crewmates has an interaction with Freely's Luck of Yondalla, then no they do not. Corazon affects Good/Neutral/Evil while Freely affects Lawful/Neutral/Chaotic. Different spectrums of alignment.

Delina was generous I'll admit. I think Corazon sits there very comfortably, though. While an argument could be made to call me and edgy lil bitch, I do believe that's also a comfortable fit for Hew Maan. If this was a "Speed Tier List," they'd certainly be S tier. But this is a tier list for the game as a whole, and while their speed is amazing... that's about it. If they maintained their speed while also offering a damage bonus, I'd be singing a different tune though.

I think her overall buffing can certainly reach what I'd consider A, no doubt. The problem for me comes down to, are you actually going to be able to maintain 6/6 Rage at your hard wall? Plus, her availability isn't the greatest, which I failed to mention. Again totally understand someone seeing her in A, though.
