Absolutely the best video on this topic I watched. Some things to understand before you take on this project: The videos are misleading due to the nature of filming, the screws you are looking at are very enlarged by the close up (and perhaps your own display screen.) they are barely the size of two poppy seeds. If you can work with magnification, do it. Also the spots to place your various screw drivers (in real life) are barely the size of a large pin hole. I could not see to align the driver and in the case of the X driver, mine was not magnetic. I found the ambient light sensor does not "click" into place. It's just glue and bracket holding it. Everything else had the slightest click (you cannot hear it but you can feel it.) A good substitute for that magnetic board is the sticky side of your old screen protector if you have it. That said do use something to keep track of those tiny screws. Work in a very well lit area and in my case I choose to use a white dinner plate to work on. The plate helped things stay visible if they dropped and the upturned edges kept them from bouncing away. Use the hair dryer, those adhesives are very strong. In my case the cracks were at the bottom of the screen and would not let the suction cup that came in the kit stay on long enough to pry the pieces apart. His suggestion of a razor was the alternative that worked for me. Placing the new adhesive "gasket" is a pill. Take your time, be very deliberate. get it right "first time." It doesn't like being pulled back up even a small area. My kit did not tell front, back, top or bottom and it makes a difference. Look at it very hard before you try to put it on. I found pealing the blue cover of the seal slightly and finding which side faced down on the back of the phone helped figure out it's orientation correctly. This is not as easy a job as the presenter shows (I assume he has more than a little experience doing similar tasks and it may well be easy for him.) Work in a well lit and relatively quiet area (IMO, that means absolutely quiet but maybe someone who is not me can tolerate more distraction then I can.) This all said, this is a "doable" project, the kit I purchased came with everything I needed except the hair dryer, and this video was 1000% more helpful than the instruction sheet that came in the kit. I watched multiple times then would re-watch the trickier parts (installing the adhesive and moving the sensors) several more times while in the process of doing those steps. Thanks for the detailed video, I doubt I could have taken this on without you. In the end the phone is working and it appears all the sensors are working and face recognition is also working. You've done a great job teaching.

Best video, I can add a couple tips. I used the box that the kit came in as a safety catch for those tiny screws. Also If the glass is cracked put some tape on it to secure the little chucks of glass. 👍👍

Thanks for this video, it made it a lot easier to fix my friend's screen. What took the most time was getting the screws in place with the cheap tri-wing screwdriver provided with the replacement screen. Somehow they magnetized the sides more than the tip and the screws kept rolling around the tip to the side, very frustrating!

So I have a problem while moving the flex cable from the old screen and detaching it to pull out the silver plate unfortunately I ripped the flex cable of my old phone screen that was broken now I noticed my new one has what I broke but in your video it says I have to transfer the data for it to make my phone the way it was is this true did I just mess everything up in factory reset my phone basically because I ripped the flex cable?

The bottom screws? If the screen is already damaged, it is easiest to rip the screen off then get the screws out from the inside

You cannot adjust it in settings, the phone will say it is nongenuine which can be very annoying. Other than that I don't think it comes with any downside though.

that's bc replacing the screen doesn't help that. you need to factory reset it, but you'll get logged out your iCloud.
