Good landlords do exist. In 2008 during the housing crash in America, my mother was able to get us a reasonably priced rental near the beach. Our landlord rarely gave extra raises on rent and even had people come to care of landscaping and the occasional "expense". While I can't advocate for all landlords on Earth, I can say there are definitely good landlords out there. I'm grateful for the opportunity to live in such a wholesome place for that period in my Early life.

yeah there are decent ones. the decent ones usually actually own the property etc and aren't in debt and aren't under a huge pressure to make their leverage scheme actually work out. some 6 or 7 years ago media started showcasing success stories of people who had 6+ properties without owning a single one of them outright and started showcasing it as a good idea to leverage all your assets and keep leveraging them to get as many rental/airbnb properties as you could. maximum risk, maximum pressure - maximum 'evil' behavior as a result, just one of their properties going down in value will make them have to try to squeeze juice out of a rock with the rest. edit: there's tiktok coach influencers who show to their 'clients' how to lie in loan applications etc to become a landlord too, effed up

I think both sides are being purposefully obtuse to this situation. There are so many factors at play when it comes to landlords and property rentals, I think its pretty clear a majority of landlords did not work a 9/5 to own several properties. A landlord, typically comes from a place of power and economical advantages to begin with, which is why they are seen as "evil" or immoral. The rich get richer and the poor stay poor. Landlords, while necessary in our society, do perpetuate the cycle of poverty whether they intend to or not.

Communism doesn’t actually promise the abolition of economic classes, it’s only promise is a society where everyone has the same relation to the apparatus of state and capital. In communism people who work harder, save more money, and invest smarter still have more wealth than those who don’t.. the most orthodox conception of Marxism stresses the importance of a participatory political system being developed from the bottom up by a political party dominated by working class people. The truth is there has yet to be a nation where a true proletarian party has taken the reigns of state power, it’s always been a clique of military men and authoritarian elitists. Anarchy in the truest political sense is a much less dangerous ideology as it calls on people of every class to reject the state power both socialists and capitalists exploit to oppress people and murder millions. If good intentions were a weapon strong enough to beat bombs and artillery the world would be a global collective of highly individualistic free thinkers participating in an economy that rewards hard work and intelligence without allowing an elite class to hoard so much wealth that families struggle to live. Wastefulness would still have negative repercussions though so even in that world a few people would experience scarcity.
@lasskinn4743 ай бұрын
well at times some nordic societies got(and are) pretty close. in the sense of that who you were born to did not(still doesn't arguably) affect your ability to get education and chances to survive to adulthood, historically this was not the case in finland just in early last century to highest levels and how well you can then do with your acquired profession. the modern problem with this is that high education doesn't really mean that you'd be the sort of a person who would have success with it, but it's not like you'd starve on only social benefits either.. and then the problem becomes philosophical bickering about whats a life worth living anyway since that's kind of the bottom baseline that the social benefits are supposed to be in what's supposed to be a welfare society(and that meaning faring well) and happiness in that way is not really something objectively measured.
