First of all, thank you so much for your amazing english lession, especially for non-native english speakers like me and i'm writing this because i watched your lession on "APOSTROPHES". But, i've some request. Please make another lession on Let, Lets and Let's. One of my friend said that there is a difference in meaning between let's know and let us know. However, my english teacher tough me that Let's with apostrophes is same as Let us. I'm confused! Please make another lession on this problem.

Crown Academy of English i appreciate you so much for you replying me.in fact,im from china,so, i have got to connect VPN before watching your video.although its inconvenient for me to watch it,i have already watched most of your videos for now.i think the content of each video is just professional, wonderful and excellent(i havent found a proper word to discribe it comprehensively because of my poor english .) i also very hope that you could do more videos about phrasal verbs and reading skills in the near future. phrasal verbs is really confusing.. for me,currently,i can understand most news of BBC,but sometimes i cant fully understand it.besides,i also read The Economist,it's really hard to understand.i dont know how to work on it,because i have no english teacher and to be frank, virtually,i learn my all english just via my phone and laptop..

I was wondering if I might dare to ask you a question. In this example: The meal consisted of soup, salad , and macroni and cheese is correct or The meal consisted of soup, salad and macroni and cheese. Thank you prof. A
@CrownAcademyEnglish8 жыл бұрын
Well both are grammatically correct. (But be careful of the spelling: " macaroni" ) - The first one uses the Oxford comma and the second one doesn't. Personally, I don't like the Oxford comma but this is a situation where it adds clarity. The Oxford comma is always a source of controversy within the English teaching community and your example is often an argument in favour of it. :) Andrew

who cares about aommas? thats old .... speak like u want ... this complicates you .. makes english hard and boring people who speak 3 languages dont give a shit about commas ... thats why they have passion and corious and the first thing that they do is doing mistakes
