People consume more processed food than they used to in previous years. This is because processed food is easily prepared, but this will have dire consequences on their health. The main reason for the increased use of processed food is that it takes less time to prepare them than traditional meals. Most people do not have the time to cook because they work for long hours, so they use processed food. An employee who is getting home after an exhausting day at work will probably prefer to use ready-to-use meals than standing in the kitchen for two hours. For example, a recent study showed that processed food use has increased over the past ten years in urban areas and major cities where people work for longer hours. This will result in less healthy individuals of society. This is because processed food contains fewer nutrients, such as vitamins and minerals which are essential for a healthy diet. Our bodies depend on these nutrients to develop and to fight microbes. Moreover, processed food is rich in cheap fats which are responsible for many serious illnesses like diabetes. For instance, recent research found out that people who depend on processed food as their main diet are more susceptible to infectious diseases. In conclusion, people use more processed food these days because they are extremely busy and do not have enough time to prepare their meals. However, this will negatively affect their health and they may suffer from chronic diseases in the future. Thank you for taking the time to look at our essays.

Anyway, a potential employer told me I must retake the test as mine is less than 6 months old. And here I go again, running back to Chris! I booked my test last August 7 and took it on the 28th and got the following scores: L=9, R=8.5, W=7, S=8 Overall=8 Follow his structure. Follow his logic. Watch how he approaches the topics, especially in the WRITING TASK 1 AND 2. Practice them and implement them on your test. I've done this twice, both on time pressure, but the way he explains things makes you understand it. So, good luck to future test takers, and THANK YOU CHRIS!

I have got 5.5 in writing for three times no matter how much I prepared. I feel self-doubt a lot and begin to be demotivated with strong sense of depression. One thing worth mentioning is that I am a Chinese candidate. As for the reason why I would like to talk about it, I would say that to get a reasonable score in S&W in China is comparatively harder than that in other countries. Feeding the human body and mind is one of the essential aspect for survival. People use to eat home cooked food in the past, however, in the modern society where industrialization of food has become quite popular, people prefer processed food for various reasons such as taste, saving time without knowing the effects it has on the human body. This essay will cover why people eat more processed nowadays when compared to past and its effect. Cooking breakfast, lunch and dinner is one of the time consuming activity. Nowadays, people wants to save their time, so that they could spend it on other important matters such school, work, and social gatherings. After industrialization of food, people are attracted towards processed food because of the longer shelf life, instant cooking options. This saves people’s valuable time spent in food preparation. For example, when people wake up in the morning and rush to work, this ready to cook food items become the saviour. Therefore, people are more inclinded towards processed food without bothering about its effect on their health. Although, the processed food items may sound so fascinating due to their attractive features, they come with a cost and it is inevitable, unless people begin to take care of their health. The food items we get from the super markets are highly processed at the factories which involves using many chemicals and preservatives, so that the food items has a longer shelf life, good taste. Though, these chemicals and preservatives are approved by FDA, they are not good for the human body in a long run. For example, World Health Organization conducted a research between two groups, where processed and tasty food is served to one group, whereas, other group is served with health meals which are made from organic farms. The research concluded that the average lifespan of people who had processed by decreased by 9% whereas the people who had organic food lived longer than the average lifespan without any serious illness. Futhermore, research reported that processed food known to cause many illness such has heart attack, obesity etc., To conclude, it is clear that people choose processed food for various reasons, though it is known to cause many health issues. Hence, government and organizations should take initiatives to educate people on processed food and their effects on human body , so that people choose healthy options for one’s wellbeing and for the society.

Thanks a lot for the video. Essay : People eat more processed food than they did in the past. Why is this? What are the effects of this? Answer: People consume a lot of canned meals nowadays, compared to past trends. This essay will state the reasons for this recent trend of eating greater processed meals and their consequences. It takes less time to prepare processed food and get the meal ready for eating. This is because most of them are either half or fully prepared, thus requires little or no cooking time. Some canned food such as pringles are readily edible. Statistics shows that working mothers with very busy schedules patronise processed food stores than stay at home mothers, this has helped them conserve time and increase their productive working hours. Also, packaged food are quite affordable in countries like the United Kingdom and the United States of America, unlike fresh food which cost more due to the costs incurred in producing and distributing them to their users. Also, fresh food produce do not enjoy government subsidies hence they tend to be pricey. Materials for producing packaged meals such as flours and sweeteners are cheap and available in markets. Studies show that for the past few years, packaged food stores have recorded more sales compared to those selling fresh food because they are reasonably priced and accessible. One of the consequences of people consuming more canned meals nowadays is that it poses a risk to their health and fitness. Not only do they suffer from being overweight due to the fatty and oil content of processed food but also, they contact heart related problems like high blood pressure and short breathing. In effect, packaged meals do not contain the requisite vitamins and nutrients the body needs to function optimally because the chemicals and preservatives used to preserve them reduce their potency. People have also become lazy and sedentary because they do not exert energy in cooking their food, as fetching groceries and making meals can be a good way of exercising one's body. According to a health organisation in the United States of America, cases of obesity and high blood pressure is forty percent more prevalent in recent times than it was a decade ago, and this was attributed to individual's bad eating habits like eating too much of processed food. In conclusion, individuals consuming greater canned food because of the time it saves them and affordability portends a health and fitness risk to them.

I meet so many people from Punjab,India at the test centres who are struggling, trying to achieve 6 bands. I feel sorry for them. I always tell them to look up your channel and website. Once again, your advice is the best out there, rest all others are so confusing they could confuse even a person with a good vocab and good command over the language. Nowadays, people are more inclined towards readymade food than past due to fast pace lifestyle. Needless to say, there is a long term side effect on health. we have observed that people eat more processed food due to the hectic schedule in their day to day life. Whereas in the past even around 15-20 years back people had time and energy to cook fresh food and prefer to consume in that way. However, things have been changed drastically were due to lack of time people are preferring the option to pick the food which is ready to cook or ready to eat. It has a vast impact on human health. remarkably, people who eat processed food have more heart conditions, obesity, and stomach related issues. In conclusion, we can say that to accommodate timings in our day to day life, people are preferring packaged and processed food over freshly cooked food, which has a health impact in the long run.

Consumption of processed food is much higher among people now compared to the past. This is because they are readily available and easily accessible. This increased consumption leads to a rise in the occurrence of chronic health conditions in those who eat these foods. Nowadays, people eat more of fast foods due to the fact that they are easy to access. This is because they are produced to become ready-to-eat and this helps to save time from cooking. They are often prepackaged making them convenient for the consumers. As a result of busier schedules of most people, this easy access makes these foods attractive and thus increases its consumption. A recent study in Lagos metropolis in Nigeria, showed that the number of fast food outlets have quadrupled in the last decade and these outlets experience higher patronage from the general populace. People who consume a significant amount of processed foods are likely to develop chronic health conditions. This is because these foods contain high amounts of sugar, sodium and fat which lead to obesity, heart disease and high blood pressure when they are consumed significantly. Also, the physical and chemical processes that these foods undergo causes their nutrients to be released easily when they are eaten. This makes the people that eat them to be more predisposed to developing these diseases. A recent research revealed that diets rich in fat and sugar cause obesity and processed foods are the major source of food in obese patients. In conclusion, increased consumption of fast foods is a result of easy access to them and these higher consumption has led to the occurrence of chronic health conditions.

As I see it, your range of vocabulary is the most important in your writing. Most of IELTS test candidates are adults or at least in their last years at high school. So they know quite a few things as to how to arrange or layout their writing work. The real problem that a candidate would have comes up when he needs the right words to express himself in a certain context.
@Ieltsadvantage5 жыл бұрын
It is certainly an important aspect but not THE most important things. All 4 criteria are equally weighted.
@soaraddie19185 жыл бұрын
Yes, you're right. What I wanted to say is that vocabulary is the most difficult. Usually, I as a candidate don't have enough words to say what I really want to say or I may use the wrong words because I don't understand them fully. Thank you very much for your response.

People eat more processed food than they did in the past. Why is this? What are the effects? It had been observed that trend has been shifted from cooked to processed foods and is significantly increasing when compared to the past.This essay will discuss the probable reasons behind the change of food eating habits and it’s possible consequences. Gruelling and hectic working hours have left people with limited relaxation hours for themselves.People tend to prioritize their leisure time by spending more on meditation,exercise,entertainment and with their families than utilizing it in making dishes.Thus people prefer preserved foods at homes as well as on their work places instead of making them at home which is tiring and time consuming at the same time.Moreover,these processed foods are easily available and one can easily get hold of them from any near by utility score since they can be instantly prepared and consumed. Processed foods are canned or stored food items packed with preservatives to increase their shelf life.The preservatives in most canned foods are actually chemicals that require optimum temperature to maintain the product half life.For instance a research at king’s college London has reported the development of diabetes in canned food consumers because of use of sugars added in the product.These ready made food products have other deleterious effects on human body,increased cholesterol levels and obesity to name a few.If these canned products are not maintained in optimum conditions,the additives can serve as an ideal medium for bacterial growth and reproduction producing infections in its consumers it is exemplified by botulism infection seen in people consuming food products that are not adequately subjected to cold storage. To conclude consumption of processed food needs to be contained by individuals to avoid lethal diseases and infections in human race.

This only based one present life or times not past. Therefore, compare present with past. Otherwise, this will effect your TR score. All in all this is good essay. Keep it up.👍

I only had 5 weeks to prepare, including some hectic weeks of many last semester report and final studio work (I am in architecture), so generally I had only about less than 2 weeks clean to focus on IELTS. I found your channel about a week before my exam and had just been binge-ing. I got LRWS for 8, 8, 6.5, 6.5, I know these are not the most satisfactory scores, but for a first try, I am very glad and confident for the things I am about to use this for later... Thanks a lot Chris!!!

Consumption of packed food has seriously increased as compared to older times. The primary reason for this is today’s busy and hectic lifestyle adopted by individuals. However, this has terrible effects on human lives. People have a very busy and fast paced life in modern times compared to thirty or forty years ago. Due to this they find less time to shop for fresh produce and cook their meals in conventional ways. Grabbing processed food items at convenience store and putting them on the dining table is mostly preferred equally by both adults and children. For example, it is easier to push a canned Tuna on a pan and have a quick lunch ready, rather than getting fresh fish from the local fishery, cleaning it up and preparing a delicious meal in a conventional way. The effects of processed food on humans have been negative. Although it is not visible immediately but it does take its toll. Due to infusion of various preservatives and additives the nutritional value diminishes in packed foods. Due to this human organs are effected leading to health hazards. Most common of them is obesity, bone deformities, skin disease and most commonly, various types of cancers. A medical journal has recently published that 45% out of the overall cancers in humans are caused due to processed food consumption. To sum it up, people have shunned fresh foods for processed food in modern times due to time constraint and convenience. But this has negative effects on human lives.

In recent times, people consume more prepackaged food than they did decades ago. This is because processed food is convenient to consumers but can result to some health problems. To begin with, processed food makes people's lives easier as it's quite convenient. Human beings are too busy to shop frequently or prepare meals and as such they go for the most convenient way by either ordering prepackaged food online. Also, prepackaged food reduces meal preparation time thereby making life more stress free. For example, a married working class lady with kids who gets home late because of work can still prepare a delicious meal for her family within some minutes with the help of processed food. Processed food makes life less complicated. However, some health issues have been attributed to processed foods. Most prepackaged food is believed to have some additives, artificial flavours and colours which are detrimental to the health of the people. For instance,a recent study published in the British Medical Journal found that ultra processed foods that contain artificial flavours, additives, colours are linked to an increased risk of cancer. Processed foods are potential risk factors of cancer. In conclusion, consumption of processed foods is believed to provide convenience thereby making life to be easier especially for people with tight schedules but at the same time problematic to the health system of consumers as it has been shown to be associated with cancer.

In the recent years , there is noticeable change in the sleeping pattern of the individuals as compared to our ancestors. Personally, I think this is because of workload and the over-use of technological gadgets which have detrimental effect on individual’s health. First and Foremost, reason for having a less sleep is working hours. Today companies hire the employee that can devote their time as much as they need to raise their productivity. This was not at all the scenario in the past decade. Our forefathers worked 8 hours and have enough time to relax themselves by indulging in the various activities like yoga , evening walk etcetera. For exemplification , multinational companies demand more working hours from employees which involves activities like daily presentations with clients , managers, team. To stay and secure their jobs in such competitive environment , the workers keep them updated by staying asleep till late night and prepare for next day task. This will result in getting disruptive sleep . Secondly, people are more dependent on the gadgets . Today youth prefers to stay home and watch web series instead to performing outdoor activities or meeting their friends . They continue to watch the series till the end and take complete advantage of the gadget as much as they can by playing game until they won . This habit makes them awake until midnight which completely spoils their sleeping routine. Unfortunately, this will cause serious problems like fatigue , depression, lack of concentration , anxiety and many more on the one’s health. Recent study conducted by “ The Times of India” has shown that more than 75 percent of young brigade is suffering from anxiety and sleep disorders. Many people are dependent on sleeping pills as that could not get sleep due to stress, they are dealing with in their daily lives. All these problems make our community weaker and will affect the productivity in long term . In conclusion, sleeping patterns has changed as compared to our previous generations due to working hours and overuse of technological gizmos and have repercussions that they are chronically tired and exhausted from work lives .

Hi! All thanks to you that I got 8.0 in IELTS Academic which I wrote recently. I sincerely followed all of your advises and got 8.0-R 6.5-W 8.5-L 8.0-S. Although I'm happy with the others, I'm quite shocked with my performance in Writing. I'm still analyzing as to what could've happened. I ain't crying over spilt milk, but just wanted a reason as to why my score in Writing is so low, when compared to the others. Thanks, Meghana

It is witnessed that people consume more processed food than they used to be. This is because these foods are more convenient in terms of availability and the cost , this results many health problems among the consumers such as non communicable diseases and malnutrition. People tend to eat more processed food because their life is busy than ever and they hardly have time to prepare meals from whole ingredients. Processed food items are available in each and every supermarket and the cost is very low compare to the whole food. It is easy to buy them while returning home from the work and it takes only a few minute to prepare them, Moreover , These foods contain added preservatives that make them last longer and one can keep them and eat later, for instances, white bread which is made out from wheat grain is available in any supermarket in the world compare to whole wheat and it is easy to use and cost less than one $. Consumption of heavily processed or ultra-processed food will leads to a lot of health related issues. They contain very low amount of vitamins and other micro nutrients compare to their whole counterpart, so, regular consumption can leads to nutrition deficiencies, Furthermore, Many preservatives, extra amounts of sugar,salt and fat are added during the manufacturing process of these foods which leads to diseases like diabetes , hypertension and obesity among consumers. Some of these added ingredient can cause cancers also, For example, it is estimated that, one piece of frozen pizza contain a large amount of fat that is twice as normal daily requirement leading to obesity. In conclusion, consumption of processed food is increased compare to former days as they are more convenient, but this results a lot of health related issues among consumers such as obesity and cancers.
