Thanks so much for this! Such a good interview with lots of useful insight. @ 39:30 Sana Romanos mentions Middle Eastern expectation for loud volume and distortion, which is very interesting. It brings to mind an interview with Sean Sully talking about how to achieve ithe llusion of huge loudness while staying below the dB safety limits when mixing bands like Rage Against the Machine. His approaches included parallel compression and saturation IIRC. Might try to look for tha video again....

Always very interesting to hear different story’s about the same job! Also the different spots on the world , mixing in Europe is very different than in the US indeed. Here in Belgium we have lots of crazy DB restrictions and like Sana said,lots of people yelling to put it louder but ur not allowed. Need to be very creative over here sometimes😅 Keep this content going my friend , thanks for ur input again! Cheers

Thanks Bliss! Yeah, I'd say that one of the challenges in the US that noise laws and restrictions are different in every city/county and not well defined.
