Double Your Subs (without changing the pattern)

How can you double the number of elements in your sub array without drastically changing the coverage pattern? If you know where the acoustic center lives then multiples subs can couple at that center without occupying the same physical space.

i have some danley th812s that have enough drivers i don't think merlijn's formulas will work --- can i just empircally measure the acoustic center by using two microphones on a big flat outdoor field rather than esitmate from the baffle area?

Sure. Just like in the video. Mark the center. Two mics, equidistant. Move the sub until you get matching phase. Find distance away from center. I think that should work.

@@nathanlively let me watch the video again, once i have power back. Maybe i got confused. However, my concern was that, working in free field with the subs, and the configuration you put them in... wouldn't you create a Cardiff, lobe of some sort, which then should be directional? Anyway let me check it again in a bit. South Africa has challenges with power and hence internet connection .(because the batteries from the towers get stolen). I love and enjoy this country, you always feel like a pioneer of sorts

If I send stereo signal to two subs (one gets left signal, second gets right signal), can I use them in cardioid inline array? Will setting all low frequency instruments in the middle help? With one guitar and one bass I tend to let them be 30 procent left or right
