Stephan my now Exhusband asked for space because he felt he was going through a midlife crisis (Oct 2023)… I gave him space, I even agreed for him to go on self discovery trip to Alaska Jan 2024… i found out after the trip he met up with a female coworker while on the “self discovery” trip. I filed for divorce in March 2024 he hasn’t agreed to anything because he doesn’t want a divorce. I chose myself, my self respect and dignity. I feel like if a man needs space then he isn’t ready to be in a relationship period.

So we were good until his daughter said I wasn't the one for him., I was too old. 5 yrs difference. I have no health issues, he has heart issues, high blood pressure and diabetes. He adores her and did not defend us. We got into it cause he told me she's been saying things for a long time. It seems he can't say anything against her. He said he loves me and always will. He said he needs a break until Jan 2025 3 mos total. He told me to call if I need anything. Nope, I'm done, we're in our 60's and his daughter didn't even want to meet me. I believe she would have acted this way towards anyone who gets close to him. He's a widow 3 yrs. That's his battle I'm not going to fight with him over this. She acts like she's dating him, calling 8-10 times a day. I deserve better. I had to let this go.

Yes, he is not ready for you. He needs to not rely on his daughter's unsolicited counsel, if he wants a relationship. When he's ready for a relationship, his daughter's voice will fade into the background. Dealing with a widower is challenging. I've been dealing with one for 2 years, so I know that of which I speak.

I keep running into men who say they're ENM, poly or swingers but are open to having a primary partner. What is going on here? Thank you Stephan! This information is good to know in the event I'm ever in this situation. My take thoughts/takeaways are as follows: 1. I can respect a man that is open and honest in expressing that he needs a break. HOWEVER (emphasis on however) I need to know the REAL reason why. No fluff. No BS. Just the truth. Most women can tell when something is off for the most part. If I can accept it and handle it, great! If not, I'm out and he can get the hell on. 2. I hear the phrase "men fear" often. My suggestion...Resolve it. I think as long as men are being open, honest and transparent and loving in speaking their truth, they are not responsible for how women receive it. That's on us (women). You've done your part and men should hopefully find peace with that. Again, please resolve the fear and speak from the heart. 3. Why waste someones time if you desire "singleness"? Seriously why bother? That's not fair and it comes across as playing games. I know that sex wasn't mentioned in this video but it makes me wonder if "suddenly wanting singleness" occur because of no sex or after sex/intimacy? I said it before and I'll say it again: Ladies keep your panties on and be just as unbothered in the event men want to pull away, etc. At least your dignity and self respect would be intact. Last, I TOTALLY agree with you about being careful who you share your relationship business with. As I think back on my younger years I NOW see how I was influenced possibly manipulated etc. LESSON LEARNED. I've learned from experience to take it to God in prayer, seek out an unbiased, licensed professional counselor (confidentiality reasons) or confide in ONE tried, true and trusted friend. That way if you hear it again you know exactly where it came from.

My girlfriend is incredibly insecurewhen other women are around and its caused problems between us, no matter how much we have talked about it its always an uphill battle, she thinks its a small problem and ive told her its the only issue we have that for me is a deal breaker, if we end its because of her insecurity.
