I never doubted that she could sing. It just seemed that there were never songs released that afforded LaTavia to display the talent that she harbored. Sort of like this amazing loop that they played on the video clip; it never displayed her range/ability. I was sitting here thinking I bet if given freewill with just that chorus she could do some stuff that would surprise us all. She sounds as if she has a phenomenal supportive vocal if she were to be performing in a group and a phenomenal voice if she were to be singing solo. The only thing that I wasn't expecting was for her voice to 1. Resonate from that low of a register and 2. For her voice to sound so soulful. I tell you one thing, just from hearing her sing that loop I can honestly conclude that she can out sing half of the discovered sisters out there today that are so called blessing the mic.

Jessica Williams This isn't her "go to" song, India Arie's "Ready for Love" is. Which makes sense because it is in her mid range. Destiny's Child's old vocal coach said they could all sing. And you are correct LaTavia being Beyoncé's best friend at the time only made it into Destiny's Child because their vocal coach said he would work with LaTavia and Beyoncé wanted her there. She was originally a dancer and rapper, it doesn't mean she couldn't grow into a vocalist. She wasn't given the opportunity to grow and her dream was taken away twice, which left her without confidence. Beyoncé in a Vibe Magazine article said LeToya couldn't sing and we know she can.
