Truer than anyone would like to admit. Hilarious. I think I can see a bit of me in each of these ladies. Last potluck our church had, the church decided not to provide the meat. The ladies organizing it were so afraid there wouldn't be enough and forgot to trust in the Lord. We wound up having a gentleman in the congregation provide fried chicken, one lady made sloppy joes, another made ham and turkey sliders, someone brought chicken pot pie, two crockpots full of meatballs, a chicken and noodle casserole, and I think there was even a lasagna. Needless to say, our protein choices were more than adequate. Veggies were sorely lacking.

As a southerner and a fan of the housewives oeuvre, make this a mini series. Include housewives tropes as the woman who is trying to raise money for charity and all the ladies talk about how bad her event is, the woman who is trying to be an entrepreneur and makes everyone use her items/attend her events, the socialite/life of the party (the one who gets drunk, doesn't understand personal space), the matriarch who gets involved in everyone's drama and tries to solve problems while meddling herself, the one who thinks she's too classy for potluck events and brings catered food (but it's from Costco), the one from the well known famous family (who might be the black sheep if they have a mugshot but it's okay they are ~saved~), the one who is a no-nonsense, hard worker who has little patience for others yet has marital issues. I could go on about tropes in the housewives series. But you should have confessional interviews with women who say salty southern things about the other ladies. And maybe a reunion episode where a preacher asks questions by other ladies in the congregation.
