Imo the best iem for a certain budget is two good iems that are different yet compliment each other! I find I get kinda numb to tunings given some time, switching it up always makes the experience better :)

I own the Variations but I'm impressed by the s12. Honestly budget concious audiophiles can totally end game there if they want. You're gonna have to spend $500 and above to have a massive jump in upgrade. This is why iems that sound better than most in their price range are hard to upgrade from. Not because there aren't better iems but because to get a significant upgrade you need to spend HUNDEREDS more. Enjoy your s12! its a gem.

Now, I have salnotes zero. So coming from 20 dollars, which would you prefer me buying next? Is it worth it to buy an iems at 50 dollars and work my way up, or should I just save my money and buy a more expensive pair? Are the differences (soundwise) between each price point noticable?

Save your money and buy a $200 > IEMs. Differences between 20-30-50 are not that big. Same goes for 200-300-500. There are some IEMs that punch well about their weight, but in general you don't see big improvements in the same price range. Just skip the under $100 range, get a $200-300 IEMs and you’ll get 70-80% of top tier quality. That's the sweet spot in my opinion, you get a big jump in quality while not missing much from top of the line IEMs. What you get after $500 is the small refinements for the enthusiasts.

People say the dunu titan s is so old but i dont care because it still sounds good. It sounds like a better Aria. I don't own the dunu titan s. I own the Aria, Starfields and Variations. Even then, I still think the Titan S is good. But i heard they have a filter problem. Once the filters get clogged its hard to fond replacements? Not sure if that's true since i dont own one. The moondrops i own have their filters easily purchasable.

Imo most iem here have a good fit. Esp with above 20$. Since they all almost have the same casing type (resin) sos thats why u never see iem reviewer rrlly review about comfort. I have red and lots of hype 20$ iem non of them have comfort issue (even tiny dsp) even if u do. Aftermarket tips will solve all problem (yes, all)

Unless he hasn't properly listened, but then i think it should still go in the temp section. i wonder if they don't mention other competition at all for some reason. they seem quite acquainted with Elysian owner. E.g., every time they pick a flagship, if they've heard the others, we would want them to briefly say why they picked it over the others. It's definitely not ideal for us if they don't mention the competitors at all.

Crin X Zero Red/Blue are a bit overrated, imo. Bought both & returned. Sounded too thin or cheap for my liking, . CVJ Mei / EW200 / Dfi are way better in that price range.

Having owned an OH10, the best bass monster IEM I've gotten since then is the recently released ISN Neo 5, for $280... and that's compared with the Yanyin Canon and FATfreq Maestro mini, which I also have and cost more. If you really wanna spend $500, the Penon 10th Anniversary is the whole package, IMO.

Fir audio stuff are very bassy. I think timmy demoed fir audio before and he said the iems were too bassy for him. I happened to demo their Radon 5(i think thats what its called) and while technicalities were impressive... the tuning is way too bloated for me. It sounds like the tuning preference of normies that love BOOOOSSTEDD BASS. Which is fine if that's what you like. But i wouldn't pay thousands for it. Eq is the way to go for that type of sound imo.
