You have some fantastic content on your channel. At 53 years old, my wife and I achieved a net worth of $1 million back in 2017. Fast forward five years, and it has grown to $2.4 million. Despite our combined annual salary of just over $100,000, we have adopted a frugal lifestyle. We continue to drive older cars, prepare meals at home, and make use of leftovers. Additionally, we have two children currently in college. Fortunately, we had saved for their college expenses, and they are contributing by working part-time. As a result, they will graduate without any student debt.

Hi Davis, thanks for the videos, I learnt a lot from it. One question, would you recommend using leveraged ETFs (e.g. TQQQ, UPRO, etc), to trade PRS, Short Strangle? While I understand the risks, I don't think it applies to Option tradings, especially since I'm concern about Premiums, lower margins, and lower max loss, etc. Pls correct me! Thanks!
@optionswithdavis4 ай бұрын
I personally don't use leveraged ETFs, but if it works for you, why not. Just test out using the smallest contract size over a large number of trades and see if it works according to what you want. Preferably with demo then this way if it doesn't work out the way you expect then at least no money is lost. Thanks for the support, appreciate it!

This is my fifth year after retirement. I’e been following the 4% rule thing I saw on a youTube channel, but this isn’t really how hard I expected things to be. After I cashed out a lump sum, I still have about $760k left, but at this rate, and with how the market is (we were putting money away in an index fund), I’m starting to get really worried.
@Peterl429025 күн бұрын
Not a lot of people are able to save that much in a lifetime. But now you are retired and depend on your investment, it’s best you redistribute your capital. To simplify the process, you could allocate your resources with the help of a financial advisor.
@larrypaul-cw9nk25 күн бұрын
I’m closing in on retirement, too, and I have benefitted so much from using a financial advisor. I didn’t start early, so I knew the compound interest of index fund investing would not work for me. Funny how I pulled in more profit than some of my peers who had been investing for many years.

Please make a video about capital allocation. I believe the audience need to understand how much money they need to have in the account to trade certain strategies. For example, the strangle is not just entering the position, people need to know how much capital they need in the account when the position goes against them, and at what point they need to close for a loss or put more money in the account. When you open the position, the initial margin could be $5,000. When the underlying goes against you, the margin requirement could be $11,000 + the loses so in this case the capital requirement could be $15,000. This is important to understand so the trader can calculate the return on capital which in my opinion, a strategy should return between 2.5% to 4% monthly.

Thanks, Davies, for this amazing video! One question: I typically use the Wheel strategy to earn passive income by selling a cash-secured put as the first leg. In case I get assigned stocks, I will then sell a covered call option. Do you think this put ratio spread strategy is better than the short cash-secured put as the first leg of the Wheel strategy? If so, I will probably replace the short cash-secured put trade with put ratio spread trade as part of the Wheel strategy.

Another defense if the stock falls too far too fast is to neutralize the loss by doing the after the fact adjustment. So your sold put is at 30 strike let say and stock gaps down to 20 and you want to neutralize the current loss. Simply buy it back at its now expensive price and then recover the loss by selling the put at the same strike the 30 strike. This will neutralize most of the $10 drop due to recapturing the intrinsic value. If the market keeps falling you can repeat this process as ling as there is a market to buy and sell the option at the 30 strike now that the market is way lower. Hope that helps. Have fun!
@therebellion691121 күн бұрын
If people don't understand I think what you're doing is the same as getting assigned and selling calls but with less capital. At 20.00 dollar stock you will have 1,000 warped up in selling puts vs 2,000.00 in owning stock. I know this is just an example but 10.00 is a stretch id think of trading interest on a 20.00 stock but I get your point. Might have to eat it for awhile and sell a leap.
@jtsh19804 ай бұрын
If it's its a put debit spread, we should be paying to buy the put debit spread. Hence the example at 3:30 is not correct when it said short put is +$3 so each short put is $1.50 and long put is -$1. In this case, it's a credit spread and we receive $0.50 instead. How is this possible?
@optionswithdavis4 ай бұрын
See it as either: 1 Short Put = +$3 credit. 1 Long Put Spread = (-$4 + $3) = -$1 debit. Net Credit = +$2 Credit. OR: 2 Short Puts = +$6 Credit. 1 Long Put = -$4 Debit. Net Credit = +$2 Credit.

Davis, If you trade 100 put ration spreads over 2 years and also trade 100 cash secured puts over 2 years, which trade will work best based on probability?
@optionswithdavis5 ай бұрын
If you compare using the same short put strike price, ratio spreads will have a higher probability of profit. But it's a tradeoff because if the market goes up the moment you put the trade on, the CSP will have a higher profit since there isn't the embedded put spread.

Thank you for a great video. I really like this strategy and will research it more to trade with it. I was wondering, do you have a strategy for when an underlying is trading at the 'top of the band' so to speak? Basically the inverse of the put ratio spread. Since selling naked calls is not allowed in lower level accounts, It seems a lot of strategies are geared towards puts and covered calls. But these are both started when the underlying is at the 'bottom of the band'. Once the asset recovers and goes up, what is the trade strategy? It would be great to have a "wheel" type of approach where the put ratio spread was at the bottom and " " the other strategy was at the top. Thanks!!

I love your videos and have been watching every one I can on ratio spreads. One thing that I think doesn't get talked about enough is management. For example you covered it some, but I think there's probably a lot more things you can do, when you are using a DTE of 30-45 days. For instance, one thing I am experimenting with is a wheel strategy where I set up call and put ratio spreads that cover most of the expected move. I think with a long DTE setup, if the stock moves one way, the shorts in the opposite direction can be closed out... leaving "free" long contracts in case there is a reversal. OR they can be rolled up to capture some of the profits... at the cost of narrowing the spread. Now I'm not sure of all the tradeoffs of that idea, but it seems like this setup- both bullish and bearish ratio spreads, means whichever way it goes you can make adjustments to profit from the movement.

Even w new competition on the horizon, NVIDIA is far ahead of the competition. 85% market share. 76% margin. Unrivaled demand for new Blackwell chip. Demand far exceeds production for Blackwell through to 2025 and beyond. No competitor has anything close to Blackwell. And forward P/E is about 33 (cheap for a high growth stock). Buy this stock and wait. You will be rewarded

When it comes to investment, diversification is key. That is why I have my interests set on key sectors based on performance and projected growth. They range from the EV sector, renewable energy, Tech and Health (AMD) alongside coins, and gold. I'm also working on an investment plan with my Fin. Advisor that includes AI looking into Nvidia, MSFT, Alphabet stocks among others. I've been utilising a financial advisor for more than 15 months now, and I've made over $800,000.

@@SidneysRollands That's quite remarkable! I'm genuinely interested in benefiting from the guidance of such experienced advisors, especially considering the current state of my struggling portfolio. May I know the names of the advisors who has been assisting you in navigating these financial challenges?

It's the first time i see your channel. You must be good at option trading. For the collapsing market. How do we earn the most. I don't know when, but If I certain the market is having a great number of drop. Should I go far away from strike price and long term long put? Or deep in the money put?

With this strategy, if the stock goes well past my short Put, will I be forced to buy the stock at the strike price of the short Put? Will the debit Put spread offset that loss?
@PowerfulActionableBits-bz9gt4 ай бұрын
It's a ratio spread (+1, - 2), so the 1 short put will be offset by the long put and you would have to pay for the assigned shares for the other short put

We know you love 45 DTE for edge so if this is a retirement strategy how often are you actually opening and trading these? Is this a once a week or one a month type of thing?

Davis, how is short PUT lower strike is $1.50 (3/2=1.50) and long PUT with higher strike than short PUT is $2.00?
I like this put ratio spread strategy. What if you look at the market and see a bunch of overvalued stocks? Just wait? I love a bunch of stocks long term, like NVDA, NOW, PLTR and META but think they are all overbought.
@timreynolds22643 ай бұрын
Davis I cannot find any of the trades with PLTR with any significant income under $1 wide. Even that is really low. //What are you finding?

Hi Davis, how do you close only the put debit spread in ibkr in a single order?
@91mingseng5 ай бұрын
I have the same question. so far I am only able to close the debit spread in Trader Workstation, but not in IBKR mobile and IBKR desktop

are you saying the combined premium of the two shorts is $3, this is the part that confuses me?

It dependes... how much ATM your position is and how high the IV is at That moment.

Good tactic. I think most people call this the 211 trade but is a great tactic and easily modifiable.
