If you raise with good hands everyone might just fold. What about this ? So many time people raise with AA and they end up taking the blinds only 😂

They are pretty weak, okay at the height of the poker boom, but players simply don't go all in at low stakes with Jacks, unless they are shortstacked. They also don't call huge bets with K10 on a K high board. To win anything at heavily raked lowstakes you have to be able to determine what opponent types you are up against. Do they fold too easily? Do they call too much? Do they only start with premiums, could have anything, etc..

I understand his point of they only have aces 3 percent of the time. And don’t get me wrong. You should never fold kings with 100bb pretty much never. But when an opponent has 4 bet you , they have filtered out like 90% of the total hands. And with you blocking some of the Ak , in reality they have the aces probably around 30-40 percent of the time. A few players higher. Now either the money in there already and a good chance you have the winning hand. You clearly get it in. But I promise you. If you are 4 bet in a low stakes game. They have the aces way more than 3 percent of the time

The one thing I disagree with is that you should be folding pocket 2s to 4s in early position. Just not profitable because most times you miss your set on the flop and finding yourself having to fold and also run risk of having set over set and you lose all your money.

All good except KK. In principle - agreed, however play DEPENDS on type of opponent, stack sizes and! game dynamics. Get 4bet all in makes you think for a minute , those 4% somehow comes always to play when you running bad. Never mind aces, dodo w AJ gets you in, and invariably snags A or straight or JJ . Update : 3 days later I got to infamous KK situation . raise big small raise, facing 2.5 re-raise from third guy, suspecting AA, but hey B.Rain said it is only 4%, let's test it, so I shove and IT IS AA! If I didn't see this video I would go with 1st impression and (correctly) fold. After 30+ years playing it is developed art of recognizing subliminal telegraphing this particular hand (AA) by manners and the body language and many times chatter. So my advice is when facing uber aggression take deep breath and re-run quickly gathered signals before commit + of course one should have already plan with all options before putting 1st chip in...

Also just won $1040 playing 1 2 in south Florida tonight so I do believe I know what I'm talking about and yes there are still plenty of fish in live poker and if you find yourself in a location where that is not the case you are just going to have to move if your goal is to be a for profit player.

I still can't believe the number of players who will not follow the " Big pot - Big hand" tip. If you get to the turn and the pot is getting huge you need to have a hand better than top/top if you expect to win.

Cool. I’ll just jam my big draws along with my big hands too. You can always dump your top top and thanks for the free money on my draws. lol. Come on guys. Poker is not that simple , and silly little rules like that get massively exploited. How about play the situation for what it is. And not follow a rule. If you are a true beginner, maybe yeah. But you guys are acting like you are teaching people and keep it hush hush. Treat every scenario for the situation it is. Not some rule made up.

The 3% and 4% numbers in the don’t fold kings tip are deceptive sure if nothing happened and you had no info they rarely have AA but villain 5bet shoved their range isn’t any two cards anymore it’s likely QQ+ and AK which makes AA much more likely than 4% of the time.
@adabucks415
@adabucks415 Ай бұрын
Yeah, but even in this case... You are crushing AK QQ And Tying KK And also crushed by AA So 3 of the 4 you are in good hands. And you will also find less savvy players shoving there with JJ and maybe AQ. So you really have about 75% odds to win or draw. The only way im folding there is if my tournament life is on the line and I know the villian to be a nit, and even then some of the times, im calling

In scenario 4 you state that you have an unbeatable straight on the turn, which is false. They could still have a flush draw which would beat you on the river if a spade comes up. See, I listen.

I do $6 plus $2 for each limper in live 12 games. If you are a TAG and raising $10-$15+ you are going to get too many folds from worse hands that you want in and risking extra money that you will lose when 3 bet and you are in the lower half of your range and having to fold.

LOL! With KK on the button, I raised 10BB, playing 1-2 NL, and 4 people called. I have no idea where you play and raise only 3BB with a premium hand.
@Jack-vo6bu
@Jack-vo6bu Ай бұрын
Because you want weaker hands to tempted to call, there no point betting 10BB just to win 1.5 BB if everyone else folds - it’s such a good hand it’s stupid to do that, if you bet 3bb, and they call, now you have 7.5bb in the pot, and you bust them on the flop& turn!

Your raise size should be the same in every position, as well as the action for that position. But you can change the size based on position. In simple terms, ex : btn srp you always raise 3x, UTG srp always raise 2.4x. Etc. But it should be the same every time so that way you’re not giving bet size tells based on your hand strength.
