@@keiraashton5773 See, the idea that "happy couples are boring" is a sign of lazy writing. I remember Joss Whedon using that as an excuse why not a single couple on Buffy the Vampire Slayer ended up together when the show concluded (most of those relationships having ended in some tragic way, of course). And IMO that was kind of bullshit. Yes, drama is reliant on conflict. But "will they/won't they" is not the only type of conflict that exists. I don't think anyone feels that Bobby and Athena, Maddie and Chimney, or Hen and Karen are boring simply because they're together in steady relationships (hell, two of the three are married and all three have/had kids). Off the top of my head I can already think of a few sources of drama if Buddie get together. What's it like for them to be openly bisexual men, especially Eddie who is a macho military veteran and comes from a Latin, potentially religious/conservative family? How does romance "within the family" impact the 118 team? Bobby and Chimney may be in relationships with fellow first responders, but it's different when you're both on the same team. Buck is already prone to disobeying orders in the field, now imagine what it's like if he sees his full-on boyfriend in danger. There's no doubt that the unresolved tension between two characters builds up the anticipation, and you need that for their eventual coupling to carry any weight. That's why I think Tarlos on Lone Star hooked up too quickly, it happened before the audience had the chance to actually pine for it. But that doesn't mean that this pre-romance stage has to be stretched out forever or else the couple won't be interesting anymore. If a writer thinks that couples are boring once they actually get together, so their role has to be reduced unless and until they break up, that's just not a very good writer.

This is such a great character study of Buck and his mental health issues that have been building since his first episode. It shows the bond between Buck, Eddie and Christopher as a family - no matter what. I don't think the show will ever put Buddie together but I do have to credit the writers for giving us such in-depth, complex characters and tackling issues that action/procedural shows sometimes gloss over. The way you mixed dialogue with clips is so smart and the video really tells a story instead of just showing clips we've already seen. Love it!

This short video is a trailer for a movie. Or should be. I just keep thinking Eddie is gonna just grab Buck and kiss him full open mouth and tongue and they're gonna go for it. Full body grabbing and sweaty from a gym workout session. But the sentimental writer in me is crystal balling a dinner with them asking Christopher if he would be ok with Buck to have a sleepover.. And the kid quietly asks Eddie where's Buck gonna sleep? So Eddie reptiles, in my room. I know they're fictional characters, but they fight and have emotionally charged elements of genuine love. Their reactions are true to more than friendship or Co worker status. Extremely dynamic development from where Buck was in the beginning. This video made me cry and I'm 55.
